Thank you sister! For posting the song and your beautiful art! I can see myself in those peaceful green pastures in my imagination.

Well you've had a lot of advice, good and... not so good. I won't try to add too much to what has already been said. But this verse comes to mind " Whom the Son sets free is free indeed". That is quite a Scripture. But excuse me if I'm wrong here, God has forgiven your past, but have you forgiven yourself?" Maybe that is a part of your anxiety? I was encouraging someone who had made some life mistakes and, like you, was in a bad place. We all know God forgives, but do we really understand what that means? God forgives our sins and wipes the slate clean. Imagine if that mistake you made, that relationship, what if it never happened? How would you feel? Well, in God's eyes, it never happened. Now you just need to forgive yourself and let it go. Let go of the rock dragging you down. The devil will tempt us and draw us in and when we slip, he turns around and accuses us. "Well, what kind of Christian are you, look what you did!! " and it puts distance between us and God. Like I said, maybe I'm way off. I hope you get some help or whatever you feel you need. But remember this, some of the most broken people were the ones God used for His mighty purposes. Do you listen to music? I find music soothes me and reaches me like words cannot. There is all kinds of music that can uplift you and calm your spirit. "Still Waters (Psalm 23)" by Leanna Crawford is a beautiful song. Maybe someone could post it for me, I always get the wrong site. @Magenta has had to help me in that area. I hope you feel better soon and come back with a praise report!! Blessings.
Thank You, And You are right. Forgiving myself is something that I am working on. I want to fix things that are not my place. Instead of letting them go to God. Prayer does make me feel better. But only temporarily. Maybe I should Pray More? And actually Believe that I am forgiven. And Truly Believe that others Forgive Me?

Yes, I understand how you feel. I have the same issue, I think most of us do. We can only do our best to make things right with others that we may have hurt. They may forgive us, they may not. But God forgives completely when we ask. Everything is new. People, it may take them a little longer to forgive but not God and He's the one that counts. Try to find a place in your home or yard, a calming place you can pray, read the Bible or listen to music. I have found that it can be a big help.

The Word Helps Tremendously in the Moment. I don't want to think about Life Without Jesus. However My Anxiety alone is to much to bare and I can barely function the majority of the time. I still go home alone. And Honestly, It is OK if Nobody even responds to this post. Because the Truth is, It makes me feel better to put it out there to people who don't know me. I Already know that God is the only One that can Help Me. Maybe I am to Broken and Lonely to Open My Heart enough to let Him in. I am so Ashamed of Myself that it is hard to accept Forgiveness from the Lord. Much less forgive myself. At the End of the Day, I am Still Going Home to an Empty House All Alone Crying Myself to Sleep Hugging My Bible. Crying Out to God for Any Peace at All. JESUS PLEASE HELP ME!!!
i have suffered from anxiety since i was young.mine has got worse with adulthood.recent problems with my sons behaviour at school has sent it through the roof.i know kind off how you feel.

Yes they are. I feel like my days can be or are filled with them, or fear I will get a panic attack at any moment. The things I used to love, I can’t do anymore without a challenge or struggle, or can’t do anymore at all without fearing of having getting a horrible panic attack. I’m terrified of them. And I get very depressed and frustrated because of life due to it. The things I want in life (such as a relationship, or being able to do certain normal things without being afraid) is a struggle for me, and has been for a very long time. Many times I wish I had a friend of the opposite sex who is single, who actually likes talking on the phone so I wouldn’t feel lonely, but even then the lonely is still there. I’m just one of the billions of people in life whose life didn’t go the way he thought it would, but such is life. Mental and emotional pain are very real.

I don't believe that anyone understands exactly how messed up that I actually am.

You should get born again and renew your mind (understanding) to speak and think only what God says about you as being a child of God.

@33Michael33, if you -- or anyone else on the forum -- receives replies like the one above from user StanDupp, please just report any of his posts that are particularly out of line, and do not engage with him.

I can teach people how to be overcommers by pointing them to what God says in His Word which is TRUTH.

I used to be a homeless drug addict and have experienced first hand what it's like to be despondent on the edge of ending it all.

That was back in the 90s and since then I have learned the answer is on God's promises and one cannot walk with the Lord without accepting what He says as being Truth and acting, thinking, talking, living as though God's Word is Truth

Those pointing people to the wisdom of the darkened mind of mankind are working for the devil and in the end they will be far worse off since they are being led away from God's Word Who IS Jesus Christ.

However, if he doesn't get the confrontation he seeks, he simply bails out and moves on to other threads or sections of the forum, always prowling for another victim to attack and drum up more attention.

Actually, those not wanting to be free from the darkness of this world thru God's Word have to be ignored because they refuse to accept what the Lord has said in His Word and would rather remain unchanged.

We aren't all where we need to be yet.

With the Lord it only takes a few moments to arrive at a place of victory.

ALL things are possible with the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you have really arrived at the mastery of righteousness by faith, you should be comforting someone who needs comfort with the same comfort God has given you.

Hence the speaking of God's Word, which is where the answers are that people in distress need.

Sadly they are so easily distracted by others and by man's wisdom in to seeking answers anyplace other than in God's Word.

This cuts them off from being partakers in God's Divine Nature so they can actually overcome!

2 Peter 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (carnal minded desires).

As you keep claiming "I have this" and "I have that", you fight against being loosed from it.
Try viewing it as an attack from the adversary and not a cherished possession and you will begin to have success, the world view of taking possession of it looks to be heavily entrenched looking at your age, so may take time, or may be immediate if He chooses to unleash you from it.
best wishes

From the time he got here, he has repeatedly written posts telling people that Jesus is perfect, and if they aren't perfect like Jesus, there is something wrong with them, their walk, and their faith, and that their life as a Christian is a failure. No matter how you answer, he will simply raise the bar, while saying virtually nothing about his own walk.

WHY would anyone not want to be like Jesus???

It's so sad that most people are following man made religion and not following what God says in His Word!
These people have been deceived by the false teachers in the churches.

2 Peter 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (carnal minded desires).

Romans 8:29
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

What makes us children of God is IF we answer the Father's call to abide in Christ having turned away from our old life of sin and walk with Him in newness of life

Ephesians 5:1
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Ephesians 4:22-24
put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Romans 13:14
put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Colossians 3:10
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created Him:

2 Corinthians 6:17
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

This is what baptism is supposed to be about... making a covenant with the Lord, a public declaration of faith, a commitment to put off the old man and put on the new man and to walk in newness of life

Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

We are called to cooperate with the Lord, to be co-laborers with Him. He made us in His Image, so we have free will... the Lord desires for us to willingly choose to turn away from our old life of sin and come abide In Christ and not turn away, ever!

1 Corinthians 3:9
We are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

It's God's work, His power, His ability... but WE have to choose to accept His offer to be His children and turn from darkness to walk with Him in the Light.

John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Getting born again is the introduction and the starting point and if one truly believes and dies moments after getting born again, yes they would go to Heaven.

But few die immediately after getting born again so it remains to be seen... will WE to choose to accept His offer to be His children and turn from darkness to walk with Him abiding In Him until the end of our lives so that we might be saved???

Matthew 24:13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Endure to the end as in... DON'T fall away!

Believing in and following Jesus is the most wonderful thing anyone can ever decide to do.

But demanding that others obtain perfection on the same level as Jesus in this life, and that anything less than that is someone not having enough faith (like illness) and sinful (like being clumsy, as you said such people need to be institutionalize in another thread) is its own religious a whole other deception by itself.

my biggest concern with anxiety is trying not to show it infront of others.especially my son.when its bad i can hardly move.an unexpected bill or something going wrong in the home becomes overwhelming.

Why not recognize it as the devil that it is and cast it out in the mighty Name of Jesus?

James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

It's time to ACT on what God says in His Word as the devil has no defense for that.

1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalms 55:22
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Care (found in 2 Corinthians 11:28)

Careful (found in Philippians 4:6, 1 Peter 5:7)
from 3308; to be anxious about: KJV -- (be, have) care(-ful), take thought.

Be thankful and give praise continually!

It's awesome that God rescued you from such circumstances.

The thing that intrigues me is that you've shown absolutely no compassion for others on this site. I always have this foolish notion that those who have been hard times will therefore try to be understand of others also going through hard times. But your approach makes sense in light what you're sharing about your background.

I used to be in a ministry that wrote to inmates, and talked to some of those I wrote across 5 maximum security prisons. I say this not as clout, but because many I talked to had been in your situation -- and worse.

I've read that there are two types of people who will judge and try to correct people the most stringently:

1. Those who have never been through the same things so they don't have any experience with it (therefore, believe everyone can avoid those things, just like them,)

and

2. Those who HAVE been through the same or similar things, have overcome it, and therefore, believe everyone else can do it too -- and usually, the exact same way that they did. Anyone who doesn't is just being willfully lazy and/or sinful.

I saw this a lot from many people who have been through hard times, whether in prison, or in the church communities I've grown up in all my life. And it always struck me how these people had little to no understanding of others, nor did they want any, but preached to them about how to change at full-force anytime they got.

I understand that maybe some are designed for those who really do need that take-no-prisoners, tough kind of love.

But the Bible says that we will be judged in the same manner as we judge others.

Your posts make it sound as if you've found sinless perfection in this lifetime, and therefore, you demand it of everyone else as well.

If this is what God is calling you to do, I certainly can't stand in the way.

But I will protest what I see as the mistreatment of others, and trust that God will deal with me as well regarding any wrong I am doing.

Yes, such as you telling long-standing, respected members here who shown their hearts over years that they need to go back to an institution.

I saw many, many people with your approach growing up in the church.

And it is because of your very kind of approach that I have prayed to God, from the time I was little, to "please, just kill me first before I ever become that."

Unless, of course, it actually IS God's will that I take the same path as you. However, seeing posts here like yours reminds me to pray against that regularly.

And if what I'm praying for is wrong, then obviously, God will deal with me.

Something interesting about the people who think you like as well -- you always tell us to pray to the Lord. But yet you act as if we don't do that already, or as if some of us haven't been praying to the Lord all our lives -- and you seem to act like God only hears your prayers, and not those of the rest of us.

I have full faith that God hears my prayers, no matter what they are or how ragged they may seem, and that He will duly decide what is best for everyone in the end.

Even if I am wrong, I know He hears. And if He needs to discipline me in the process, that's part of His love.

God indeed discipline everyone He loves -- including those who think He only hears their prayers -- and not mine.
