    One Baptism

Luke 3:3-6. John's message was a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. John's baptism was associated with repentance, that is, it outwardly pictured an inner change of heart. The word “for” (eis) refers back to the whole “baptism of repentance.” The baptism did not save anyone, as...

    How do you get saved?

The Pharisees had all the outward appearances of devout followers of God. They knew the OT better than any here, yet their heart’s were not right.

    Loss of salvation???

I assumed most here were aware of the differences in the OT and the New. If I am incorrect, it would take more time to illustrate the differences than I currently have. I will leave you with a few illustrative verses from Paul; The Spirit, Not the Letter 4 And we have such trust through Christ...

    Loss of salvation???

Luke has a parable that talks about mixing the Old with the New— 5:36-38 a new garment…new wine: New cloth shrinks when washed and so tears the old; new wine expands with fermentation and breaks brittle old wineskins. In either case, both old and new are ruined. Both illustrations make the point...

    How do you get saved?

(II) The term báptisma is a technical NT term. It begins with John's baptism in or with water (Mt 3:7; 21:25; Mk 1:4; 11:30; Lk 3:3; 7:29; 20:4; Ac 1:22; 10:37; 13:24; 18:25; 19:3,4). In all these instances, this baptism is called the baptism of John or the baptism of repentance. This was a...

    How do you get saved?

So, what do you do with this verse? Ephesians 4 4 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the...

    How do you get saved?

Agree 100%. There have been times I’ve spent six months on an issue before thoroughly fleshing it out. I was taught the ICE method of study. Isagogics, categorical, and exegetical.

    How do you get saved?

It seems that some folks count the verses that seem to support one view, then count the other verses that seemingly speak against that view, and whichever has the most verses wins.

    How do you get saved?

I haven’t read a good deal of the assertion in this thread, but has anyone explored the idea of water baptism as being a public display or one done privately. Can one baptize themselves or what qualifies one to baptize another?

    How do you get saved?

1 Cor. 1:21- For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

the world is run by fallen angels and demons, do not follow them into the pit seek the Lord.

Kinda Like Paul when he addressed a group on Mars Hill. He said they did well to have statues for so many god’s, and even one to the “Unknown” God. He went on to explain a few things about the unknown “Real” God. Even God’s name in Hebrew is a jab at all the fake gods. It can be translated...

the world is run by fallen angels and demons, do not follow them into the pit seek the Lord.

A right thing done in the wrong way, is wrong. A wrong thing done in the right way, is wrong. A right thing has to be done in the right way, and that’s God’s way.

    One hundred fifty three fish

I did a deep dive into the significance of the number 153. While many seem plausible, I like this particular speculation; “The number 153 is the numerical total for the Hebrew words "Ani Elohim"--I AM G-D. When Jesus caused the disciples to catch exactly 153 fish, He was declaring to them that...

    Speak Your Mind.

I don’t usually interact in debates on this site. Occasionally I will leave a few words, but I simply read the varying opinions on many subjects. This thread looks like a good place to hopefully leave a few words that won’t get misunderstood. I wrote them a while back as I thought about the...

    Predestination is misunderstood...

It’s called sin. One does not even know they are sinners, unless they know something of God. We all make excuses, just like in the garden. It is only through an honest admission that we have sinned against God alone, that we can be forgiven, and fellowship restored. If there is no sin, there is...
