    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

Your argument is with the plain sense of Scripture. The Pope has no more authority with God than you or I. God is no respector of persons. Look up the Greek for Know as used where I posted. If you don’t truly know Jesus, then you indeed can not know if you have eternal life, or not.

As Christrosefromthe dead said, there were several types of covenants. My thought is that the animal sacrifices and all of the other rituals were used as teaching aids, that foreshadowed the ultimate sacrifice and covenant made by The Lamb of God.

I remember years back discussing salvation with a coworker that had similar views of a works-oriented salvation. When I quoted several verses that spoke of believing, he became upset, stood up and proclaimed, ”If it was that easy, anybody could get saved,” Then left muttering to himself.

It seems some here doubt the words of Paul, that he speaks of a different path to salvation than the words of Jesus. Hogwash! 3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2...
