The word surrender comes from the Vines Greek dictionary. "A personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender. "

How i became captive by this term was when I started to "turn my life and will over to Him", every day and every night, all day long if necessary. I then was introduced to a gifted teacher who started the journey of understanding pisteuo, and hence is a part of the information in the rediscovering pisteuo OP. He also validated the things that began to happen. The spiritual awakening, given the Holy spirit, the mind of Christ.

Because Gods word mistakenly becomes the object of faith early in the salvation process, the church world mistakenly thinks we receive " lambano" Him, instead of the correct understanding, He accepts us or our faith, or surrendered life.

I'm glad we agree on some important pieces to a correct understanding.

Do you turn your life over to Him daily, and live a life inspired by the turning of your life over c to Him?
Yielding sir, yielding.
Furthermore, the critical juncture is always RECEVING Him. Everything else follows.

not too often maybe 8 in all

Did anything start to happen as the result of your surrender? Even though you hinted you just did it once.

Gods ways tells us we need to be doing that every day. The surrendered life stops, everything stops.

Yield is the word my instructors replacement uses. It just leaves room to internet what we Yielding over to Him. Is it our life, or just our sin, our problems , everything but our life and will.
Yielding is an act of will, of personal volition.

Jhn 7:17
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Thats why surrender is the perfect word.

If ive surrendered my life to Him, that life is nolonger any of my business anymore, it's His business now.

So if He puts His spirit in me, yes it's received, but not received as a primary part of the surrendered life (faith).

The word receive if we're not careful could indicate we consider our lives to still be ours.

But your right if I'm following you correctly, once the Spirit of Christ is given to us as the result of a continually surrendered life, everything else follows, as long as we continue in faith, continue surrendering our lives to Him.

Every day wr wake up God puts our life and will back in our pockets. We must willingly choose to give it back to Hom every day. That the life of faithing, the life of surrender.

Disagree, the terms lambano/dechomai are always the crucial turning points in the many Biblical narratives regarding Christs ministry. Furthermore (and most importantly) a legitimate Biblical RECEIVING Him always mean receiving Christ as Lord and Savior.

The more yielding the better no argument there! ;)

Yielding to God: positive volition!

[Rom 6:13, 16, 19 KJV] 13 Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God. ... 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? ... 19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

When we are in a battle with an enemy, and we are captured with the foot of our enemy on our neck, do we yield or surrender? We yield as long as we know we are now slaves to the one we're yielding to. We no longer have any rights in that relationship. He is the despot over our lives. The word surrender communicates that more conclusively.

Yes, we are God enemy before He called us out . When we respond to the call, we are surrendering, just like on a battle field.

Where is lambano inserted into a verse with pisteuo?

And yes, later, after we have been sealed and are His, then if Gods word is available to us, or more important a gifted teacher is available to us, then we can accept His teachings as a part of our daily bread. His word becomes like a mirror to reflect His work being done in and through us at that point.

I'd have to disagree here one some parts of what the op has said.

Don't you have any faith that God can teach His own children Himself? Why would it be more important that we get His guidance and wisdom secondhand through some "gifted" teacher when God has given each of us His Holy Spirit?

Trusting "gifted" teachers is why false doctrines proliferate.

Eph. 4:11-12,

Your either one of these gifted ministers doing the perfecting, or your one of those ones being perfected.

T he problem is those who think they know better and don't need a gifted teacher. Thats
Where all your false doctrines come from.

I've searched continually for 38 years and have found 1 maybe 2 gifted teachers. So it helps if you can discern the difference.

I'm not the one going around insisting we use your definition of pisteuo. THAT'S YOU.

God has been fine to teach His people Himself without you interfering. You are just doing this to gain followers for yourself.

I alreadty have a gifted teacher. His name is Jesus, my Lord and Savior. No one else is better.

Jesus, the Lord and savior.
The one you refuse to surrender your life and will over to?

Are you saying you've only come across one or two people who know as much as you in 38 years?
