I don't think so. Simply look at the example of Gideon, who twice sought verification from God that it was really He. Jesus tells Christians to be as shrewd as serpents. If God really does give someone today the gift of speaking in tongues, and that someone insists on using that gift in the body (i.e. the church), then God will provide people to interpret - and all should be independently scrutinised. Those who won't submit to scrutiny, or who fail the tests, should remain quiet in the church. If the leadership of that church does any less, they are failing to adequately protect the people God has placed in their care.

This is something we agree on. But remember, the truth does not fear investigation - the lie does. Those who truly can speak in tongues would not hesitate to take some independent tests that they can do so (i.e. with two interpreters, each providing an interpretation for assessment independent of the other), prior to speaking in tongues in church - if these gifts really are legitimate.
The bible reveals the gifts are legitimate. And the gift of interpretation is a manifestation of the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit, it's not a natural ability. (1 Cor 12:10) As such, it is not something that can be turned off and on at will.

The bible reveals the gifts were legitimate. It doesn't reveal they still are. And the bible does reveal that there if there is no one to interpret, the tongue speakers should remain quiet.

And if tongues is not something that can be turned off and on at will, perhaps the church is not the place to practice it? God is a God of order, afterall.

What’s the purpose of interpreting jibber jabber?

I don't know the words Jibber jabber is not seen in the context of 1corthians Chapter 12 though 14 or in the word of GOD.

Maybe you are reading a heathen book or practice ?

What’s the purpose of interpreting jibber jabber?

And for the recorded that is was very biblical rebuttal to the position that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have not stopped. Good job Hahahaha

@CS1, I’m not going to continue discussing this back and forth. You’re not gonna change mine and I’m not gonna change yours. I’m not going to talk to someone who accuses of interpreting the Bible from human emotions. If I was interpreting it from human emotions, instead of basing it off of the word of God (which I did) I would either be saying “that’s not fair for so and so” or “what about so and so who is in this situation?” or “what about their children?” or “I felt it in my soul!”

I would be arguing from emotions if I said those things, but nowhere in my post did I do that. So, your argument against me falls flat.

Goodbye now.

As I told you before I am not trying to change your mind that is why you are wrong.

I am presenting and have done so, Biblical refute to the position many here have made known on this Thread.

1. You have no Biblical text that says that the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for today or have stopped.

2. You result to foolish terms like jibber jabber and mock and scoff Please continue.

3. Yet you and your negative personal experiences does not make the word of God to know effect. IF you have not seen what many of us have in context to the gifts of the HS and only had bad experiences I am sorry that you did however, that personal experience doesn't dismiss the word of GOD.

4. IF my personal experience is not authoritative and my testimony , then neither is yours. The only emotion I have seen here is your display of mocking and scoffing. Which proves your immaturity on this topic. :)

The person hearing the message spoken in tongues does not understand what has been spoken. (ie, no man understands) The Holy Spirit reveals the meaning of the message to the individual. The individual then shares what has been revealed and all are edified.
you are drawing a hard line with one verse at the expense of all that was said before and after. it s wrong to do that when Pentecostals do it and its wrong when you do it. You are limiting the Holy Spirit in what the text says he does.

The comment pertained to the Holy Spirit being the one who initiates the gift of interpretation.

again your insults don't move me, Grow up some day ok :)
I was sincere. I thought you might have actually seen what the scripture revealed since you changed your stance. Did I misunderstand your comment:
...furthermore 1cor chapter 12 through 14 tell us those who speak in tongues speak to God for no man understands them.
...

I have never changed my position sir. And if you are saying so which one, did I change?

@CS1, even if I respond to your comments about me, it will just continue the disagreement and argument back and forth. As shown already, you will disagree with me and vice versa, which will just lead to other disagreements from us. It is difficult to tell whether we are either angry at one another through words, or when we are genuinely trying to understand the others side. This is one of the reasons I hate written/typing communication. If we met in person, the conversation would hopefully be much more cordial and polite, as I tend to unfortunately get riled up pretty quick in online convos and sometimes in person, as that’s one of the many faults I have. We can argue about what we have been arguing about until judgment day, but I don’t see the point. It is apparent that we both believe we are right on this topic, and it is apparent we both believe the other is wrong, otherwise we wouldn’t believe what we do. Would it do any good for me to answer your posts on it? Probably not, as it will lead to what I said in the beginning of this post, and everyone has something going on in life that they are dealing with. Life is too short to be continuing a conversation that we won’t find common ground on. Life is too short to be in a discussion saying how the other cannot prove their point, misunderstanding how the other believes, or accusing them of immaturity due to their belief. Thank you for the discussion.

What was I dishonest about? Was it the part that says “even if I respond to your comments about me, it will just continue the disagreement and argument back and forth. The Holy Spirit can't contradict himself, and he instructs that if there is no one to interpret, no one should speak (in tongues).

Although your comment was not directed to me. I agree with you.

Scripture reveals God sees the heart. And it is those who hunger and thirst after righteousness (purse truth) that will come to understand what is and is not true. Our job is to plant and/or water the seed (God's Word). And it is those who are willing to focus on His Word, not man's opinions, that will receive enlightenment directly from God.

May God Bless!
