O
that's life Jim but not as we know it, just like speaking in tongues, but someone may.
Who are you addressing this to?You probably dont think Jesus will return and rule for 1000 years
Ive changed my mind m.That's a good idea, bro!
I don't think so. Simply look at the example of Gideon, who twice sought verification from God that it was really He. Jesus tells Christians to be as shrewd as serpents. If God really does give someone today the gift of speaking in tongues, and that someone insists on using that gift in the body (i.e. the church), then God will provide people to interpret - and all should be independently scrutinised. Those who won't submit to scrutiny, or who fail the tests, should remain quiet in the church. If the leadership of that church does any less, they are failing to adequately protect the people God has placed in their care. That is a pretty bold statement. Especially considering God is the only one who knows with certainly whose actions are authentic.
This is something we agree on. But remember, the truth does not fear investigation - the lie does. Those who truly can speak in tongues would not hesitate to take some independent tests that they can do so (i.e. with two interpreters, each providing an interpretation for assessment independent of the other), prior to speaking in tongues in church - if these gifts really are legitimate. The enemy would like nothing more than to discredit the truth. And attempting to ascertain what is and is not true outside of the bible is not using wisdom.
Correct. Today’s “tongue-speaking” is jibber jabber. That’s not what speaking in tongues was in the first century.
The person hearing the message spoken in tongues does not understand what has been spoken. (ie, no man understands) The Holy Spirit reveals the meaning of the message to the individual. The individual then shares what has been revealed and all are edified.lol ok the fact is not what I said but what the three chapters say. Praying that you interpret is an instruction from the word of GOD and is also a gift that edifies others.
No purpose whatsoever. It's a total waste of time. What’s the purpose of interpreting jibber jabber?
