There actually are verses that indicate Israel will return to the land forever.
Armageddon likely refers to Har (mount) Megiddo in northern Israel, which is where the final battle of this age will occur between the world and Christ with the resurrected children of Abraham
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, [which] go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Revelation 16:13-14
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. Revelation 16:16
And then after 1000 years there will be another battle in the land of Israel. This battle and the one above have to be on the earth because natural men do not have access to heaven. Also, the beloved city obviously refers to earthly Jerusalem that has been rebuilt after the great city that is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt (and Babylon) by God, but is called Jerusalem by the world, is utterly destroyed at the lord's coming.
And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Revelation 20:7-9
yeah revelation is an apacolypse though not a literal timeline of events is the thing . .
What does the doctrine say about Israel’s restoration ?
Jesus is Israel’s messiah brother . He the one god promised in the Old Testament who would raise up the tribes of Jacob and also be sent to all nations to be the savior and Gods salvation to the ends of the earth
“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee. Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; that thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.”
Isaiah 49:6-11 KJV
But they rejected him and still do today unless they repent anc convert to belief in Christ they have not a Hope in the universe . And Christ
didn’t promise anyone any land on this earth
“but
the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”
2 Peter 3:7
This isn’t gods promise to his people
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which
the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that
all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein
the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless
we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
2 Peter 3:10-13 KJV
There could be “a restoration “ of isreel this earth as they remain in rejection of Christ ….. but it’s not going to be of God . He will restore them his way as he has foretold . Where and when he has foretold .
that’s just by own belief I’ve often asked people why Jesus the lord and his apostles never taught a single word about it in the New Testament
and everyone points to johns chaotic apacalyptic vision that’s stumped men and led to false predictions since it was written and this “literal “ thousand year riegn on this earth it yet the rest of the entirety of johns visions in the book are all considered not to be literal for instance a lamb with seven eyes and seven horns who’d been slain and yet lives at the throne ….. not literal but apacolypse from the rest of the Bible about Jesus shown in a visual form to John .
of ten kings taking power with a giant beast with seven heads that comes out of a sea and ten horns to destroy a great prostitute ect these are all apacalyptic visions not literal or linear timelines of events but they are showing forth o formation from the rest of the Bible in an apacalyptic vision shown to the church just before Jerusalem was destroyed by rome
to find the literal within it you have to look at the doctrine in the rest of the Bible that’s what it’s actually showing in the vision . Israel will be restored by his promise when the messiah returns and fulfills the curse promises of they rejected him
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
Malachi 4:1-6
They rejected and crucified Jesus and beheaded John when he arrived …so the day of the lord will be as Peter proclaims in his epistle or Paul proclaims here
“and to you who are troubled rest with us,
when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: ( that’s who’s being destroyed by the fire in the vision ) who
shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe in that day.”
2 Thessalonians 1:7-10 KJV
The people of God aren’t on one city they are across the globe yet are on Christ as one people it’s not about this earth anymore it’s about the promises he was making all along for israel and all the nations for a new creation
A read tbrough Hebrews should open eyes of what the Hebrews were being taught about thier inheritance
“These
all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. But now
they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. ….And these all, having
obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”
Hebrews 11:13, 16, 39-40 KJV
It’s strange they never said anything about the land to the Hebrews only that it’s ….not on earth and tbat it’s something God has prepared that’s far better .
toyd thibk the New Testament would have a clear theme they taught about his thousand year reign and this restoration of a temple in Jerusalem on this earth but there’s not a sentance apart from a vision that’s an apacolypse based on the other information in the Bible
mostly the doctrine is repetetive and clear about things like …. Hom destroying this earth and then after that restoring it and Israel as a nation in a new earth
