that is my position from my understanding you asked a one-liner question are their prophets today IF I just said YES you would have gone on some tangent. So, it is irrelevant I said yes to your question and provided the answer in death out of respect to you. I take it you did not read what was there? what I cut and pasted was an answer to your question.

I don’t believe they occur like they did during that time for various reasons that I have already given. I am interested to hear your answer though.

Right, which was my point. Why another thread to spread her opinion? We have those up the yin yang. Why say you want to discuss an issue then say "well I agree with this guy, you're just full of emotionalism". It really is tiresome.

why was the Holy Spirit sent? to indwell believers and give supernatural power to witness for Christ

the spiritual gifts are for the good of the body...not self grandiosity

there is more than one aspect to tongues....do you know what they are? it's in the Bible

speaking of perfect timing and purpose, can you think of an instant when we do not need power for living for God in this world?

she is attempting to use inductive reasoning which is why she throws questions back without answering any of our questions

Yes, you and I are in compete agreement on that. Because nothing had been codified with regards to actual NT writings, certain supernatural events took place. I make the same distinction with the Exodus. The Hebrews where shown who their God was by His miraculous showing(The 10 plagues, Red Sea, Mount Sinai, etc). Moses had not yet put to pen the Talmud. I believe this was the same concept for the early church.

Interesting video. I would be inclined to believe him if not for my friend who has a studder problem in the middle of prayer suddenly speaking fluent hebrew without a stutter at all. Now as for his points on apostles the thing is tongues healing miracles are not gifts of the apostles but gifts of the spirit just because apostles have ceased doesn't mean the spirit does.

And what was the one thing Jesus taught when it comes to miracles? Faith. Yes there are many fakes out there getting rich and misguiding many of his flock but miracles can only happen if you have the faith to believe in them it doesn't take much faith to say they have ceased but it requires a true believer who has faith enough to see them it requires one to have faith in the impossible.

The devil mimicks and twists many of the things God does and isn't it interesting how many fakes you see in their mega churches or on youtube as if to cause disbelief for his true children?
I don't think they happen as often but they do happen most of thjje time not on a big screen or in front of a crowd but in those small places in the privacy of a persons room in a dire circumstance where only God's intervention can change the results. God has a thing about the small and humble.


I myself am praying for a miracle that my eyes will be healed, it is the only way I will ever see clearly again as I am legally blind the damage is just to much to fix by ordinary means I want to see a miracle a true act of God so that I may be a testimony and also confirmation that my faith was not in vain. I may not ever actually recieve it I may even be wrong about miracles but I would rather have the faith to believe for a miracle and recieve it than to say they have ceased and thus never see it for myself.

Sorry you feel that way. I seem to recall you also giving gobble de gook when I asked you to give a historical account of this prevailing through out the centuries. Essentially your answer was “ I don’t need to justify that”. 🤔

And please tell what these aspects are. After all I’m just ignorant. BTW, have I used any ad hominems towards you? No I haven’t. Why do you feel the need to lob them toward me?

I gave you an answer and since it wasn’t to your satisfaction you marginalize me and insult me. At least I don’t use others writing as my own. If you really want embrace honestly, maybe you should look yourself. first.
