The interpretation in the here and now is the lord can refine you with fire and destroy any evil your holdingJob 41:21

Can be seen as a refining fire that purifies or a consuming one that destroys evil

Revelation 11:5
New International Version
5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm then must die.
The two witnesses, they are the described as the lamps stands and two olive trees. Standing before the lord of the earth.
The olive tree and the lamp stands representing Gods anointing and his church or messengers in Zechariah 4:2 -

This revelation is a duel meaning
Meaning this prophecy may have meaning to past and present and future.
so then he plants the will in you
I'm not sure which parts i asked whether it should be seen a moral free will for you to have, I asked whether it was his will being planted in you.God gives everyone MFW, which allows souls either to be mules or to be made in the image of Christ
(Rom. 12:2, 2Cor. 4:4-18).
The philosophical concept of 'free will' really doesn't have much Biblical support,
Exactly. Nearly every one of his posts requires this response.
RF= Red Flag.
If someone denies free will, they immediately step into an irrational position.
It sounds like someone has an an annoyance with God's will and it's been taken to a level of self pity blaming God for needing saving against there own actions, to be honest Calvin taught being obedient to the father,Repent and Believe - But You Can't!
The Consistent Inconsistent Calvinist Gospel By Ross Chenault
Repent and believe, just give it a try.
Just know that you're doomed from the start.
If you're not chosen you're doomed, so why even try?
But still seek me with all of your heart.
I know that I've told you to think and to act-
and obey Me in all of My ways.
But the dead are not free to choose or to act: A dead corpse has nothing to say.
I know that I've said many thousands of times to repent and believe and obey.
But I'm sovereign you see: I don't say what I mean!
Those are just words that I say.
So why do I give all those calls to repent: Why say all those things I don't mean?
Because they're just word games—not genuine calls!
Those words are just not what they seem.
The dead can't respond or obey my commands,
They're all just slaves to their sin.
But I'll select just a few and I'll zap them with faith; and make them be born again.
Hello, FWers. I have another question for you re one of your favorite passages in all scripture (NOT!):
John 17:9
9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.
NIV
Explain to me how the term "world" in this passage means all people therein w/o exception, since Jesus made two exceptions: The first one is for the Jewish believers in the above text and the second one is for the Gentile flock that would be brought into the kingdom through the preaching of the gospel by the Jews (v. 20). Jesus very clearly excluded both of the above groups He explicitly prayed for from the "world" in v.9.
Better get to work on these two problems (the other in post 27,679) with the Gr. term "kosmos"; for I have more extremely dicey problems waiting in the wings for you.
I know what you meant all right
What you meant is I'm a child and your man.
Only my God says you make mountains out of mole hills.
Which makes you a bigger child than me![]()
Okay...so you're adverse to the term "regeneration'. Fine. What about effectual saving grace instead that precedes faith? Cornelius had this New Covenant promised grace in his soul before he was saved.
they did show mercy ... they broke God's commandment, they did not rid the land of the inhabitants, they entered into covenant shortly after entering the promised land (Joshua 9).What would have happened if they had showed mercy, because in numbers, when they where excluded from the promise it was because they had not followed the lords will in them.
Deuteronomy 7:2
and when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee, thou shalt smite them and utterly destroy them. Thou shalt make no covenant with them nor show mercy unto them.
yes ... if they had "welcomed the truth" and believed the gospel ... salvation would be a reality, not just a possibility. This construction functions much like an implied if clause, indicating that salvation was a real possibility if they received the love of the truth. In other words, while “might” is not a Greek word in the text, the grammar itself communicates that they could have been saved if they had welcomed the truth
I talking about a different place, it's ok I give upthey did show mercy ... they broke God's commandment, they did not rid the land of the inhabitants, they entered into covenant shortly after entering the promised land (Joshua 9).
.
I give up on you to.I am sure you understood what you said.
(just don't try to explain it to anybody who does not get high)
So then does this unceasing incendiary internecine fusillade of shrieking condemnations against this supposedly "totally depraved" mass of humanity (who THEY SAY have zero hope of salvation via the hearing of the gospel message) habitually unleashed by a few of the hardest-core Calvinists on this board validate your theory? From what I have read, most people leave the system because of the assault on the character of God, finding themselves loving people whom God hates and possibly not selected for salvation.
This doctrine is not for the tenderhearted, it requires a person to harden their heart against humanity and tell themselves they are special and rightly so.
I do not see that in scripture either... a saving grace without conditions.
Oh so many troubles with this system....
- first changing the character of God, morally ambivalent, author of evil, elitist
- then changing the meaning of words in context,
- mining scripture for verses to pull out of context,
- disregarding basic hermeneutical principles
- build a doctrine on isolated verses
- use "mystery" as a way to provide cover for problems in the system
- tell people they do not understand the system when then find the logical inconsistencies or scripture which refutes the system
- over complicate what is simple in scripture
- one has to be trained to read the bible differently to make the system work
- borrows biblical language but twists the meaning.
- And on and on......
there is no "winning" or "losing" here, Jordon.I talking about a different place, it's ok I give up
