Good for him to go independent! I was in the Pentecostal Church of God for many years, & finally realized the "cost" of being in the organization, both monetarily & spiritually, just wasn't worth it. It didn't matter what you knew or the value of your ministry, but WHO you knew. That's the way...

Do our words carry the same power as God?

2Peter 1:20But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture becomes a matter of someone’s own interpretation, 21for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

Do our words carry the same power as God?

ONLY when the Holy Spirit leads you to do it. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. The Holy Spirit must do the leading & give the words to say, then it will happen.

John 15:1“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4Abide in me, and I in...

    Works for Salvation: Humility

Our salvation is not of works, lest any man should boast. To me this means I can do nothing on my own to OBTAIN salvation. However, we've been created unto good works in Christ. Jesus says every branch in Me that doesn't bring forth fruit is cast into the fire & burned. Therefore, our workless...

    The biblicalness of Bible college

Dear Angela53510, It seems to me that a Baptist-trained believer, especially taught on grace, would be able to use it for the glory of God instead of calling other believers an "ignoramus ", then going on to brag on her education "as if" that gives her the authority to put "ignorant &...

    Blasphemy of the holy spirt

1Tim 1:12I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, 13though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, Some christians worry...

Do you give the Holy Spirit any credibility at all? What about pastors, teachers, & other trainers?

    The biblicalness of Bible college

True. Godly teachers/preachers/trainers is a must. I was not talking about those, but the "religious system" that has been around since the "rule" of the Catholic church. I wouldn't give a red cent for the "institutions" of religious learning that are corrupt.

How does one evaluate a testimony?

Check the person's life to see if they walk their talk. The christian's fruit should be paramount. Without it, we cannot see if they are truly glorifying Christ or not. This is why I'll NEVER honor any tv preacher, because I don't know how they really live. Nobody else should either, IMO.

    The biblicalness of Bible college

Jesus is our example, that we should follow in His steps. Jesus was led & taught by the Holy Spirit, the same One who taught/led the apostles, Philip, Stephen, Timothy, Titus, & the list goes on & on, with every one trained the same way. To me, seminary is man's way to train preachers, leaving...

    The Gathering of Ourselves Together

I get what you're saying here, but has nothing to do with "assembling together". !0,000 church sins leaves no excuse to commit one more.

    The Gathering of Ourselves Together

This is a judgment call, because one would have to go to EVERY church that claims this verse & see if indeed they are using coercion to fill their seats. A good example: I personally believe it means to meet as often as we will, & I don't use this as a coercion of any kind. When you judge...
