I suspect you knew this, but the "Soviet Union" predated WWII by 19 years, and Stalin caused the deaths of millions of people prior to WWII. Both Churchill and Roosevelt were out of office by mid-1945 (the latter had died); it was their successors who failed to deal appropriately with Stalin.

I have heard that question from a Calvinist. Jesus said, "When I am lifted up, I will draw all people to myself" (John 12:32). Clearly, not all people have actually come to Jesus. So... has He failed? No. He has invited, but in His wisdom, He has not forced.

I understand; however... The verses you cited don't say that Jesus would lose none of those called, but those whom the Father had given to Him. I don't buy the 'Calvinist' view that 'called' = 'elected' = 'chosen' = 'saved'.

Your opinion is an assertion. I don't see any problem with the described events occurring on a ball earth; you do. Either the burden rests on you to explain your position, or we are equally not obligated to explain.

I have found over the years that it is more effective to pray for God to change another person as He chooses, than to tell the person they need to change.
