I agree, it is sad to see the strife among people who should be united in proclamation of the truth. Several denominations in Canada have split over this issue over the last 30 years, with the first being the "United Church" (ironically).

In these cases, related only in the sense that it is the Lord of all the earth who was speaking, and He is the Author of Scripture. Otherwise, His conversations with me had nothing to do with Scripture.

So... you don't believe that God speaks unless it is through His word. Dude, you're missing out. I'd tell you a few stories that happened just today but you wouldn't believe them. All I will say is that God definitely speaks "outside His written word".

Do you believe that the Holy Spirit speaks to believers outside of Scripture? If not, how do you explain the thousands of testimonies of Christians who say otherwise?

That depends entirely on whether you are a Christian or a Jew attempting to live by the Law. If the former, yes, of course it's okay to use a microwave. Jesus is the Sabbath; the day is merely a shadow. If the latter, you have bigger problems. Put your trust in Jesus Christ for salvation.

The words attributed to Paul here simply don't make sense in context. However, if these words were inserted (possible) or actually a quotation (much more plausible), then we have misattributed them to Paul and thereby misinterpreted the passage.

I'm disappointed that you care so little for the exact words of Scripture in one case, and quote them to support your position in another. Either they matter, or they don't. You can't have it both ways.
