    Pentecostalism's sketchy origins

Sad to say you are putting all your begs in oner askit. That usually ends up with people making judgments based on another person's experience aka Benny Hinn's. BH has to answer to God, not me or you. I can't convince him that what he is doing is right or wrong. Only God can do that and he has...

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

No their actions at the meal are what that chapter is all about. 20. The point is when you hold these meetings, it is not the Lord's Supper you are EATING. 21. since when the time comes to EAT, everyone is in a hurry to start his own SUPPER, one person goes hungry whilst another is getting...

First, you do not make a doctrine out of one verse of scripture. having been to Bible College and studied theology that is a no no. Second, the breaking bread is a meal, not a sip of wine and a piece of bread. I found out that fact after studying 60 books on the subject. Third. On the first day...

    Pentecostalism's sketchy origins

For me the medium for learning is not really relevant. What is relevant is that they are learning what the scripture teaches. In some churches they get a Sunday homily, never expository preaching and teaching so all that happens is they learn about God, but never learn to KNOW God.

    Pentecostalism's sketchy origins

As a P.S. to the previous post, I know that I get annoying when people give their opinion on this that and the other. I usually want to know what the scripture teaches. This can make some people angry. For the record I am not interested in anyone's opinion, not even mine, so I stick with what...

    Pentecostalism's sketchy origins

For how long and for how much? I was born again at the age of eleven (69 years ago) and was brought up in a church that was based totally on the teaching of scripture. The Sunday sermon was never a homily. It was an exposition of scripture. I then was taught the scripture during two years of...

They did not meet on Sunday and they didn't take communion. Every reference to Breaking bread means a meal. it only took me two years and the reading of 60 books to discover this so I will go with the research carried out by notable authors rather than one voice in the wilderness.

I don't doubt your reply but I would be more convinced if there were SOME churches that are a light on a hill. I am sure there are, just not in western nations.

    Pentecostalism's sketchy origins

The Pentecostals are not a cult as there is no such thing as a Pentecostal organsation. There are churches that are Pentecostal in nature such as the AOG, Elim, Christian Outreach Centre, Australian Christian Churches, Church of God (Full Gospel), Italian Pentecostal Churches, Planet Shakers...

No scriptural reference? haven't you read the telling of the Passover meal where Jesus changed it from a Jewish experience to a Christian one? And the NT Church was made up primarily of Jews who would have no notion of a Sunday morning, (They met on the Sabbath) or drinking a sip of wine or...

Research: Majority of Americans Believe Works Are the Key to Salvation

I don't want to sound overly critical because I have visited the USA and found Americans to be wonderful people in general. My concern is what on earth is the church (in general) teaching for those views to be prevalent. Or should I ask what is it NOT teaching? It doesn't seem to be a problem...

    Pentecostalism's sketchy origins

I did a study of worship in the New Testament which is usually my modus operandi before I post and discovered that it means total surrender. If it is not total surrender it is not worship, it is singing.
