Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

Thankyou for your sermon. I would give you mine but I think it will fall on deaf ears. As for not knowing anything about communion. I did a dissertation for a Ph.D. on the subject which took me two years. If you don't know anything about a subject you don't get a Ph.D. Next question?

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

Incorrect. I have spent two years investigating every aspect of eating in the New Testament and the facts reveal the following....... 1. To break bread means to eat a meal. 2. Communion is unknown in the New Testament 3. Passover was once a year not every Sunday 4. It was not understood to be...

Not for me to say as I did not write Jewish Law.

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

If that is the case, why do you ignore what it says?

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

Your post is a bit pointless as you have not given any reason or explained the purpose of the scriptures.

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

Mainly esoteric nonsense as there was no such thing as communion in scripture. The bread and wine was taken as part of a meal, not on their own.

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

I don't take communion as we are not told to do so. The bread and wine in the new Testament was always with a meal.

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

The important thing to remember is the context which was the annual Passover meal. Nowhere is bread and wine taken outside of a meal.

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

Sounds very spiritual but nowhere in scripture does it say what you make out it says or implies.

    Why are we quiet

The answer is simple. The church is not the church so why would it get involved and stuff up the status quo? It has a don't rock the boat mentality in most cases and when you have the mindset that numbers equal success you are going to preach what keeps itching ears happy. The church has by and...

    The New Apostolic Movement

I speak from my own experience of it in the UK back in the 60s and 70s. It had more than one name, the other prominent one being the Restoration Movement as many churches were being restored to a more biblical experience of church. One of the aspects of the movement was the reintroduction of...

    Should Churches Baptize Children?

What I am more concerned about is churches and Christians who deny the validity of baptism by immersion for the believer.

Did Adam and Eve eat an apple?

Well, to get to the core of the matter, I think that it was referred to as fruit and was not specifically named.

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

If you look at the culture and history of the time you will find it was not normal for men to have long hair.

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

One small point. You totally ignored the context of the situation. Paul was instructing them about their behavior when they came together for a communal meal. He was telling them that they should not eat until everyone had arrived rather than what they were doing which was to start the meal...

Do you view Holy Communion as Literal or Symbolic?

I am advised by the experience of two young men who both went to heaven at different times, saw Jesus and came back to earth. One of them painted a portrait of the Jesus he saw. The two men eventually met each other in the home of the one who painted the portrait and when he saw it he said...

    Pentecostalism's sketchy origins

I am sorry but I am one of those strange people who happens to believe that ALL scripture is given by God for.......so I don't deselect parts that I don't want to know about.

    Pentecostalism's sketchy origins

FYI no one had any miraculous powers. Ever. All anyone is a vehicle for the power of the Holy Spirit to do his miraculous work through. That requires obedience and faith in what God can do, not what we can do. I speak from experience which has resulted in deliverance, healing and coming back...
