Spiritual gifts which did NOT cease

As often it's the tongues (languages) issue that comes up. Some gifts having a different role/function today than in the times of the first apostles does not mean they have altogether ceased.

If a Sabbath is forced, Will you keep Sunday holy?

Saturday worship or Sunday worship are equally bad. Try to focus on the 4th commandment instead of arguing over Saturday/Sunday. Problem solved, for good.

Is it a sin to drink alcohol

I recall being in Belfast 1997 and attending Dr. Paisley's church. Some of the brethren went to the pub to have a little one afterwards.

    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

This is well put. I can't figure how some people can't accept God is all-knowing. Like He need to "look down into the corridors of time" and learn something? o_O No such thing taught in the Bible.

When did the church begin ?

There is a difference in that from that time onward the whole congregation received the Spirit. This does not mean that those Saints that received the Spirit in OT times were not also indwelt by the Spirit.

When did the church begin ?

Not sure whom you address. I do not claim that the Spirit comes and goes at all. It is those who deny the indwelling of the Spirit in OT times who do so.

When did the church begin ?

Good proof text. There is this notion, by some, that Spirit was a temporary visitor in the OT times, that came and went. However, this is not biblical. The difference between the anointing of the Spirit and the indwelling of the Spirit should not be confused.

When did the church begin ?

It is implied that it was the Spirit that convicted David. Who else would it be? The Holy Spirit was in David from the day he received it. We can also see this regarding Joshua in Num.27:18. The fact that the Spirit is spoken of as coming to, or came over, the prophets in OT times does not...

When did the church begin ?

It's that unity of the one covenant. When David confessed his sin, he’s prompted by the Holy Spirit to do so and when did so he was repentant, he was trusting in Christ, he was a justified, converted believer. That is walking a life of being born again.

    Replacement theology.

Sorry, but you do not do this here. I will just not agree to this false teaching. You take the dispensational charts to the extreme and there's where you land. I can't congratulate you to this. There is only one way of salvation and one gospel. The gospel is the good news of salvation...

    Replacement theology.

Where does it say that these works were "required"? Of course Paul is not in contradiction with James, which tells us that works follows faith. Yes, good works follows faith. A gentile who converted from his paganism, trusted God and His promises and was accepted and taken up into the...

I see the problem of hammering home this simple biblical truth when stuck into confusing dispensational error system.
