Put simply; if God has already chosen who will be saved and nothing we can do will change that choice, do we have free will? Specifically aimed at Calvinists.

My own (admittedly fairly ignorant) understanding of the catholic church is that they wrap themselves up in tradition and ceremony to the detriment of the fundamental Christian beliefs.

I think any "church" that sets out to build a hierarchy of elders, deacons, priests, super priests, etc can turn toxic very quickly. I believe this because in such a situation it is almost always subtly implied that the more senior a person in the hierarchy, the less they should be questioned...

It's impossible for something to be "good" without there being the possibility of being "bad", so that there is a yard stick to measure against. Parents don't encourage their children to be "bad", but children are "bad" when they disrespect or go against their parents.

Completely agree with everything you have said. Why is it that people who should know better (e.g. pastors) fail to explain this topic accurately?

Again, this doesn't answer my question and, respectfully, is just a side step. If you believe that Jesus Christ fulfilled the law, which he did, why do you believe that we are still required to tithe?

None of this answers my question about whether tithing is a requirement under the new covenant.
