Here is your very first POST above you said

I’m not surprised this is a serious question on this forum. None of you actually read what Catholics believe from the Catholic sources that spell it out clearly.

If it was not for this thread you would not have had a comment which leads me to believe it was planted for you in a troll-like manner. You from this very first post had false pretenses. So, please save me from your self-righteousness now ok. Been doing this too long.

You did not need me to trap you, you assumed we could not see right through your lie.
I didn’t make one statement about what Catholics believed in that post, I said nobody checks what the Catholic Church actually says. There was no “heresy” in that post.

first off you don't run this site and we do not allow the promotion of false teaching I told you that. I don't care if those here want to engage with you. I bet you have PMed many who are young in the Lord trying to influence them with your RCC doctrine. I don't ignore false teaching in this setting as a mod You did not get the hint many posts ago when I told you. Now you want to have a hold-hand moment LOL no.
I’ve PMd no one. I’m only talking to people that want to talk to me.

No it’s not, its just a general comment I made. There’s no doctrine in it. It’s a thread asking a question about Catholics, can you name a thread more appropriate for a Catholic to comment in?

I’m struggling with something you said. You said “He said doctrine would become distorted via the church.” Where does it say the Church will distort doctrine? Paul called the church the pillar and bulwark of truth.
Jesus uses multiple parables in Matthew Chapter 13 that speak to this. Paul's comment concerns the true church that is comprised of genuine not counterfeit Christians. Revelation speaks to the fact that there is a true and false Christianity. In the Word the true church/bride of Christ is depicted as a virgin and a false one is represented by a Harlot. (Rev. 17)

Matthew 13:31-32
The leaven - false doctrine (v. 33). The mustard seed illustrates the false outward expansion of the kingdom, while the leaven illustrates the inward development of false doctrine and false living. Throughout the Bible, leaven is a symbol of evil. It had to be removed from the Jewish homes during Passover (Ex 12:15-19; 13:7). It was excluded from the sacrifices (Ex 34:35), with the exception of the loaves used at the Feast of Pentecost (Lev 23:15-21). But there the loaves symbolized Jews and Gentiles in the church, and there is sin in the church.

Jesus used leaven to picture hypocrisy (Luke 12:1), false teaching (Matt 16:6-12), and worldly compromise (Matt 22:16-21). Paul used leaven to picture carnality in the church (1 Cor 5:6-8) as well as false doctrine (Gal 5:9). Sin is like leaven (yeast): It quietly grows, it corrupts, and it "puffs up" (1 Cor 4:18-19; 5:2; 8:1). It would seem that making the growth of the leaven a picture of the spread of the Gospel throughout the world would violate the meaning of this important symbol. It would also contradict the other parables.

Satan has worked hard to introduce false doctrine and false living into the ministry of the Word of God. From the very early days of the church, true believers have battled false doctrine and hypocrisy. How sad it is that some churches and schools that were once true to the Word have turned from the truth to fables. "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good" is sound counsel (1 Thess 5:21).

The kingdom of heaven began with the sowing of the Word of God in the hearts of men. Much of the seed did not bear fruit; but some was fruitful. Satan opposed the work of God by sowing counterfeit Christians, by encouraging a false growth, and by introducing false doctrine. It would seem that Satan is winning. But the test is at the end of the age, not during the age.

Impose a ban on Catholics if you don’t want Catholics posting in threads about the Catholic Church. It’s really sad you’re so intolerant of having discussions with people that believe differently than you. You’re no ones protector on here, these are grown people I’m talking to.

We’re in a thread specifically made to talk about a belief about Catholic worship.

If you don’t want Catholic beliefs being brought up, then don’t allow the threads asking about Catholic beliefs to exist.

That’s why you’re assertions are so ridiculous. You don’t seem to know what thread you’re in or you’re doing a bad job at allowing threads about Catholicism to exist.

It’s clear you’re intimidated by the Catholic Church, otherwise you wouldn’t be bothered by their doctrine. I’m certainly not bothered by yours.

Maybe the answer is BOTH.

does it matter, well only if you are catholic, if you arent, then, why should it bother you.

Is the pope catholic? People always ask this. But they never ask Is God catholic?

cos you know that would just open a can of worms......

Amazing how every Christian believes that we are one in Christ, and yet 'we' separate ourselves into denominations and different subgroups.

Catholicism is a cradle to grave faith. Jesus is the centre of the faith, just like in any other church. The (belief is that the) Pope is the elected descendant of Peter, whom Jesus gave authority to. Do we worship the Pope? Most definitely not. Do we listen to him, of course. But like any word given in a non Catholic church, it has to be tested scripturally and in the spirit.

I think of Catholic Vs Protestantism like milks; The Protestant version of Christianity is Jesus light - you focus on your personal relationship with Jesus and the trinity and wait for the rapture, his return and judgement day and the rapture. And their is absolutely nothing wrong with this - you'll get to heaven just fine.

Catholicism on the other hand is the full cream Jesus. He's the reason for our season too, we also eagerly await for his return. But we believe in obedience to the body of Christ (the church and it's teachings) We also believe in heavenly helpers in the form of Angels, Saints and Jesus' own mother, Mary. We believe that just like here on earth, these helpers in heaven can hear our prayers and pray for us / perform works. Just like in the old testament such as when God sent the 2 angels into Sodom and Gomorrah to assess the situation .

It's all this extra stuff that confuses non Catholics, but rest assured - no Jesus, no salvation. Know Jesus, know salvation is very much a catchphrase in our church too.

I can see an old member back in a new name.

"Catholicism on the other hand is the full cream Jesus"

Oh come now, don't be so precious. You are correct in that this is not a RCC defense forum, but you are clearly taking an attack position.....

And I'm pretty sure Jesus wouldn't find milk offensive - he ate and drank like we all do.

Remember, hating and berating Catholics doesn't bring you closer to Jesus. Praising him does and on that front I am sure we can find common ground in that we both believe he is our risen Lord and without him our collective faith is worthless.

We do not take God who is Jesus and call him cream. Ridiculous. I don't hate the catholic people my mother was deceived in the RCC for years as was I. Great people stuck in this abusive heretical denomination. The doctrine of the RCC is free game.

Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. Peter can't do it, nor praying to dead saints. The Pope is not authoritative as the Word of God, Mary can't pray for you and we should not pray to her.

There is no compromise or common ground on that. IF you agree with what I have said amen. If you disagree you are in error and the RCC will not be accepted in this forum as Biblical.
