Strong's doesn't dice carrots or wash your car either. But when it comes to what it was actually designed to do, I don't think it's ever been "eclipsed". Strong's Concordance is a hard-copy book. The search engine is: lick your finger and turn the pages. If it contained comparisons with 40...

    soda fountain

A weasel sits down at the soda fountain. The waitress goes, "I've never served a weasel before. What are you having?" "Pop", goes the weasel.

    Before the beginning of time...

Maybe it's a promise made among the Godhead to each other in eternity past. ... written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Rev. 13:8 In eternity past the Godhead chose to create man, and knowing that man would sin, promised each other to provide the...

Those are good points. I've used Strong's Concordance for decades and it's been invaluable to me. Another good tool is Treasury of Scripture Knowledge - a cross reference work.

Godliness Vs the control of men

Man didn't exist 50,000 years ago. 6,000 years ago God said, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh". Yes it is. Unmarried Christians are to marry when they "cannot contain". 1 Corinthians 7:8 I say therefore to the...

Septuagint vs masoretic text about Christ

Romans 3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? 2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God. 3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

Septuagint vs masoretic text about Christ

I think that many times the God-breathed New Testament revelation isn't attempting to "quote" the OT. Is there any conclusive evidence that a septuagint even existed prior to the completion of the New Testament? Isn't there only a B.C. letter which actually describes LXXII instead of LXX?

    Church is it even biblical

Yes. Acts 19:37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess. Churches here translates "hieron" instead of "ekklesia". I don't think that's what the OP is driving at though.

    Church is it even biblical

Greek "ekklesia" = English "church". I don't know of any King James occurrence of "church" where it refers to a physical building. Did Priscilla and Aquila have a "building" in their house? Did the "buildings" of Galatia set aside money for the saints at Jerusalem? "Church" is simply an...

Are You Believing a Heresy? You Might According to a New Study

It sounds like Ligonier Ministries better learn the difference between 'Christians' and 'Americans'. They're not synonyms.

    Jewish & Gentile Relationship

"We" aren't the Redeemer; Jesus is. The church's role is to preach the gospel to the lost. If a Jew or Gentile rejects the gospel that's their problem, not the church's.

    Breakfast Blues

    1. I poured me a cup of coffee and I began to sip just then I felt something in that cup tick-el-ing my lip. Out jumped an alligator he was all dressed up in style He was four feet long and sang a song through a great big sad sad smile I wish it would stop raining so I could go out and play...

    What is a disciple?

A disciple has to discern when when they come up against false doctrines. They do this by learning true doctrine. Discipleship has everything to do with sound biblical doctrine: Mark 4:2 And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine ...10 And when he was...

    Fear of God

When my thinking gets off into anxiety or into a graceless fear, I like to ask the question, "where's the grace?" (kinda like the old Arby's commercial "where's the beef?". If God's abundant grace is absent from the thought, you should dismiss it as a worthless thought. God's thoughts are...

A "Personal Relationship" with God is not biblical

I agree with much of what you say, but I don't think the idea of "personal" is the problem. The problem is when a person tries to have as much say or more say in a relationship with the Person. John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. I have only one Friend that I...

Where do believers go after death?

Let's put that to a test: Matthew 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. Is that eye annihilated? I think you can pick it back up off...

Where do believers go after death?

Death is separation of the immortal soul from the mortal body. Christ poured out His immortal soul unto the separation of His immortal soul from His mortal body; He poured out His soul unto death. He didn't pour out His soul unto nonexistence or unto a destruction of the soul. Thief on the...
