Nothing wrong with dressing up as the opposite gender?
Hmmm.
So you think Jesus would have dressed up like a woman, with make up
and high heels? Worn earrings and perfume?
hm.

Hello.
I am new to the Christian faith. My parents are Christian and in the ministry.
I am Christian also, believing deeply in the redemptive power of Jesus Christ.
I also happen to identify as gender fluid. I have found a church that is welcoming. I have also been blessed to find Christian literature that is affirming.
I am frustrated, however, to find myself amongst the minority in the Christian community. I think it is so sad that the church remains ignorant on issues of sexual orientation and gender.
I just wanted to share.
I interested

Umm this is a tough topic for discussion

I don't understand how people can be judgemental of this person when jesus tells us not to be judgemental. You are being way more unchristian than person ever has been.
Craig you may be a very nice kind and understanding Christian, but using the word "judgemental" in this context is one of the worst fallacies used by liberal "christians" to stop Christians talking about being to be true to Christ. I don't know which verse you refers to specifically, but I assume it to be Matthew 7:1-2 and Luke 6:37.

The context is to be self discerning so that we are not hypocrites. These verses are about hypocrisy, not striving to be holy.

Scripture teaches us to be discerning. Discerning what is right in God's eyes and what is not right in God's eyes. Discerning what is worldly and what is holy.

The Bible is very clear thatwe are to judge. We are to judge ourselves first.

Jazzsinger is claiming something that is clearly not right according to God. The decision to go forward in the world, or to change with the Holy Spirit is a decision up to Jazzsinger.

Our duty is to help Jazzsinger understand that we turn to God on God's terms, not ours. We need to be gentle but firm when we do so. Some comments are unnecessarily hard, but then Jazzsingeer's original post was going to trigger this.

Encouraging someone to come to Christ while excusing that person remaining in sin is not being nice.

It is my understanding there were intersexed people in biblical times.
How were they socialized? There were no operations. As I understand it they were asked to CHOOSE which gender they were going to live by. I find this significant. If God creates an intersexed person, and in the days prior to operation ONE approach to this reality is for them to choose their gender. Isnt God creating an avenue for gender variance. In fact Adam was androgynous. This is accepted reality.
accepted by whom?

welcome to the site. :)

there's someone dear to me who struggles in a similar way to you, and i will pray for you.

Fellow Christians, as frustrated as we are about a perceived agenda from the LGBTQ camp, I really think we need to check our snarky remarks that go along the lines of. . . "Well I'm going to identify as a dog, so now I'm a dog."

Those kinds of comments are not helpful,
It is the same line of reasoning. I hear there are now 'furries', young people that dress like animals and fetishize being like that animal. I don't if it has quite gone to identifying as being an animal, but it might.

Keeping the 'identify as a dog' conversation out their might make someone seem like a jerk to those who have embraced the wicked insanity of the trans movement, but for other gullible individuals who follow the crowd, hear people stand up and point out how foolish the whole thing is may sway them away from accepting this bizarre agenda, and it might help keep some gullible children from going down a route of damaging their bodies with hormones, castration, and further medical mutilation of their private areas.

It's fiction, but if a real-life emperor really had no clothes and thought he had bought cloth that only fools could not see, the child pointing out that he is naked might embarrass him, but it might discourage him from going around naked in the future and keep other purchasers of cloth from being duped.

There is not enough push back against this foolish wickedness in school, universities, and government sectors. If senators and congressmen would shame colleagues who supported this garbage, they might be ashamed to support it. It is incredibly foolish.

I saw an optional training at work on heteronormativity and 'your privilege'. If I took that garbage, it would only be because I want to know what garbage they are promoting. It is good that society is heteronormative. If it wasn't for immigration, US population would be shrinking already. Sodom and Gomorrah as a norm is a really bad thing. I had to take sensitivity that had a little bit of that stuff, along with something a bit like critical race theory. It wasn't too incredibly extreme. But I noticed that for the training on the actual legal mandatory stuff we had to know, they tagged that on the end making us read the laws and say we'd read it, instead of actually training us on the part we legally wanted to know.

I'm wondering if they are going to start talking about cis-gender-normative or cis-normative and try to push for a society where people getting pumped full of opposite sex hormones and getting their private parts medically mutilated to be on equal footing with not having that stuff done to you.

I made this assessment 7 yrs ago. The OP made a single post and never came back. Not sure why someone resurrected it, but I'm certain the person isn't here anymore:

I think we're being duped by a bomb thrower, who was probably a past banned member. The OP tossed an unBiblical grenade, sat back to watch the carnage, and moved on. Probably to some other target

God created male and female. He knitted each of us in our mother's womb. We don't get to pick or change our gender. Literature and/or churches that affirm things that are contrary to the Word of God are apostate. God loves those who are His. He does not affirm our sins. Seek the Truth find it, and you'll be set free.

Welcome to ya!

I'm interested in people and find them to have either male or female natures. But hey, welcome no matter!

I believe there are more & more ppl who aren't sure what they are: gender-wise. I believe that's confusion (that is experienced by some and labelled as fuidity, but I still call it confusion). All our souls are broken, and Jesus loves to fix them! PTL!

That's what I noticed about a string of new guests/ first timers that would start a dramatic post and appeal for sympathy or political correctness, etc.
I know some think I have not been sensitive enough, but come on, somebody is playing us for fools and wasting time at the very least. I remember one guy who was bent out of shape over a simple discussion where some members were unaccepting of sodomites in churches. Next thing you know, he's gone and up pops half a dozen new characters saying they were gay and afraid they were beyond hope. Coincidence? I'm not the smartest person, but I used to be gullible as a child. We are no longer a children.

I wonder if the Devil plays a long game with definitions of words. In recent times, I've read that John Money was the one who converted the word 'gender' from a grammatical category to mean one's concept of male or female. He supposedly came up with the terms 'gender role', 'sexual orientation' and popularized the term 'gender identity.'

John Money, a psychiatrist did not think pedophilia was a disorder. He was a pioneer in promoting medical genital mutliation (sex reassignment surgery.) There was a baby who'd undergone a botched circumcision, and John Money recommended doing what is now called transitioning, having him castrated and given female hormones, and the parents raised the boy as a girl. He had a twin brother. One book alleges Money had the two boys simulate sexual acts. The boy raised as a girl eventually found out he was really a boy. Eventually, he committed suicide, as many trans individuals have done sense. Money was a Harvard grad (PhD) who set up the Johns Hopkins Gender Identity Clinic in the 1950s, and was was a professor of medical psychology and pediatrics at Johns Hopkins.

I have also read that the term 'homosexuall' in German was originally introduced to refer to men attracted to boys, but reading the context, I am not sure about that. Growing up, the English version of it seemed to be used, in church, to include those who did the act. A couple of Bible translations, at least, use it that way. In academia, and for the younger generation, it has to do with attraction and orientation moreso than doing the deed, the same with 'gay' or 'lesbian.' That's why some people will say a little kid is 'gay' (and put a label on the poor kid, potentially messing with his mind.)

Maybe, 'historically', the term 'gender' in this context meant what these brainwashing promoters of evil idiocy say it means. It reminds me of 1984, where the torturers insist the man say there are five lights instead of the four that are there. But without all the pressure and torture, masses of people, even academics, politicians, and those who are supposed to be leaders in other spheres go along with it.
Apparently, 'gender' didn't mean the same thing as 'sex'-- as in the male-female distinction, but rather with some mental construct, and the brainwashers of children and college students promote this idea.

I used to like the word 'gender.' I had a word I could use in front of my mom, grandma, or in mixed company to refer to the difference between men and women without using the word 'sex.'

The church is not necessarily ignorant. Some believe what God says. It's good that you believe that Christ is the Redeemer. You need also to know Him as Deliverer. He came to set the captives free, not to leave them bound and oppressed. In some rare cases there are genetic disorders that afflict people and affect them physically. Apart from that, there is male and female. God created us that way.

God's ways are perfect. Sure, you will find people to tell you that it's ok to be gay or whatever. They are deceived. Being gay or denying your birth sex is not the unforgivable sin. You will miss out on God's best for your life. That is a great shame. We get one shot at this life and that prepares us for eternity. How much better to go God's way than to live in bondage to a deception.

God hates sin because it offends His holy nature. He also hates sin because of the negative effects that it has on His creation. You can be set free. The starting point is to agree with God that you have a problem.

Agreed! We're all fearfully and wonderfully made by God, basic bible teachings are so controversial now. Hello Tall_Timbers. Good to see you here! I spoke to you on another Christian Forum too which sadly is currently down. If I tell you I'm from Scotland you'll probably remember me, though this is a different log-in name. God Bless You :)

I think I know who you are on the other site. It's sad it went down. If it's too much for the owner, I wish he'd just recruit a few Moderators and let them manage things. It was a valuable community.
