Are you a christian? Would it not trouble you to know that your wife did not know Christ and would be lost if something happened to her? Do you plan to have children? What would you teach them?
I would suggest that compassionate, loving people who dislike religion and all the pomp and occasion, war and argument that comes with it, actually hold the real 'walk' of Jesus more to their chests than 'westboro baptists church', who are all 'christians', or many 'christians' that I know.
So I would have absolutely no issue in marrying any woman if I see that she genuinely has a heart that cares for people and is willing to act selflessly.
'There is no greater love than this; that someone may lay down their lives for another'.
To me, self-sacrifice for others' sakes is the single biggest determining factor in how well a person 'know's Jesus'.
And I'd teach my children the same.
Compassion would be our mutual ground. And that is most definitely a relationship with God at it's heart, whatever name he may come with.
