All I am saying is "the fruit of the Spirit" does not comely solely from suffering.... scripture makes it clear victory over sin and living out our new identity comes by His Grace, walking in the Spirit and recognizing we are new creations in Him.

I think the point of the Scripture is to be always ready for persecution, and not be surprised if it comes. Obviously not all Christians are murdered for their faith. And trials of a Christian in established Christian countries are less than say, in India or Middle East. But there is almost invariably high opposition to the point of murdering Christians whenever the good news of Jesus Christ is getting established in an area and it being taken from demonic principalities. In essence, we are to be ready if and when persecution comes and accept it with joy, but all this focusing on persecution and suffering seems a bit morbid.

I agree it is not only through suffering they produced I love to just sometimes take a break from cc and saok in him relish in his waters serinity and peace[/QUOTE]

Amen!......

Thank you preacher......your words were very encouraging to me and spoke to my heart.....JR...has returned.to the beautiful thread she started.
You DO realize that saying that you are leaving the thread for good and then returning again Is not truth But this Is what eleventh hour was trying to tell you when she said It takes time to start producing fruit,we as humans have had our spirits made perfect but we still make mistakes but now we will began to renew our minds to the new creation we have become.

And all that suffering you endured...look what came out of it......what a wonderful witness you are for the Lord.....he works in and through you, that’s for sure.

Thanks for sharing bro...that couldn’t have been easy......may you continue to grow in the Lord.....in Jesus Name..Amen!
It isn't easy especially this entire eye situation, usually I am able to trust him almost as if by instinct but in this storm I had to learn how to choose to trust him. Although it is kind of my fault before this happened I told God that I wanted to go far deeper in him than I ever have and even said to him that I will gladly go through the darkness because I see him at the end of the tunnel, whoops be careful what you wish for

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law (Galatians 5:22,23)

These are a description of our NEW nature in Christ.

They are brought to fruition in us by living out and leaning into our NEW nature.

2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

It is by staying connected to Him and living out our NEW identity that we bear/manifest these fruit.
The better we become at walking in our NEW nature the more we will manifest these fruit.
Done.. I can explain any more than that.

I will probably be banned by the end of the evening....I was upset...got nothing to do with truth...so disagree with your post.

Thank you and Amen!!

Fruit of the Spirit comes from understanding our NEW identity in Christ and living it outward.

Time to shed Roman Catholicism which never understood the believer's NEW identity in Christ and how to live in it.

Banned? I doubt that it takes a lot more than a mistake or two for that if it was that easy to be banned I would have been banned long ago.

Fruit of the Spirit also comes through great suffering.

Yup, the quotes are messed up because the HTML is messed up ... I cannot fix it now, sorry.
You need to keep the closing bracket ]
otherwise you lose the quote.

I asked to be banned, because I was upset......
If you ask to not be banned I am sure the mods will be ok with it, oncefallen is actually one of my favorites mods he is pretty stable and can be really funny when he wants to be.

I will take my chances..maybe God wants me banned...we will see.....good having fellowship with you bro....all the best ...

God keeps us in places for a season/seasons..then we are moved on...my belief.

As I recall you are Catholic, I understand how suffering ties into your thinking .. however that would mean only those who suffer would bear the best fruit and frankly a suffering tree does not grow the best fruit but the tree that is well connected to the ground/roots and the nutrients.
I couldn't look up at Jesus nailed to the cross and tell Him that.

I couldn't look up at Jesus nailed to the cross and tell Him that.

He suffered for us.
Do you think we repay Him through our suffering?

You should look up and say "Thank You" that is about all we can say.

You are Catholic correct .. I am well acquainted with your view.
Co-sufferers with Him... not Biblical

Well I certaintly would go looking for suffering but we should be prepared and ready for it because lets be honest life isn't fair player
