I hope you will reconsider and not allow others to cause you to leave your own thread. Consider the interaction of others besides them, sharpen your sword via the naysayers, stand on the word in spite of their efforts to sow discord and cause division. No matter which thread you engage in, they will come there to do the same.

Thank you preacher......your words were very encouraging to me and spoke to my heart.....JR...has returned.to the beautiful thread she started.

It is not "fruits" of the Spirit, but "fruit" of the Spirit. Gal 5v16-26 (esp. v22)...

You can find a bit of a study Here on that subject...
Thank you I was not referring to "fruit" of the Spirit when I wrote that post, I was referring to "Therefore by their fruits you will know them."

Which is quite clearly not a reference to "fruit of the Spirit" but to false teachers and their converts.

As with all spiritual gifts, the gift of faith is given to some Christians who then use it to edify others in the body of Christ.
Those with the gift of faith are an inspiration to their fellow believers, exhibiting a simple confidence in God that shows in all they say and do.
Extraordinarily faithful people show a humble godliness and reliance on God’s promises, often so much so that they are known to be quietly fearless and zealous.

They are so convinced that all obstacles to the gospel and to God’s purposes will be overcome and so confident that God will secure the advancement of His cause, that they will often do far more in the promotion of His Kingdom.

Than the most talented and erudite preachers and teachers.

The spiritual gift of faith is found in the list of the gifts of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12 verse nine, that says some people are given the gift of faith, but the gift is not specifically explained.
All believers have been given “saving faith” by God as the only means of salvation..Ephesians 2:8-9 but not all believers are given the spiritual gift of faith.
Like all the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the spiritual gift of faith was given for the common good....which means the edifying of the body of Christ( 1 Corinthians 12:7

That is correct. It probably means EXTRAORDINARY FAITH. But faith is also shown as a fruit of the Spirit.

Neither of these are saving faith, since saving faith is generated through the preaching of the Gospel (under the convicting and convincing of the Holy Spirit). See Romans 10. God does not give the *gift* of saving faith to some and withholds it from others. That is simply because salvation is offered to all -- "whosoever" means anyone and everyone.

Indeed “Extraordinary Faith”......mind blowing Faith!..for me personally..words for it are indescribable.

To sum it up,God gives all Christians saving faith.
The spiritual gift of faith is given to some, who exhibit extraordinary amount of faith in their Christian walk and who,by their faith, are a joy and an encouragement to others.

We should never confuse the "fruit of the Spirit" with the fruits that Jesus was referencing ... being false teachers and their converts.

If we do, we stand the risk of becoming judgmental in trying to determine whether someone is producing the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22 and we may just say that they "lack fruit" or their "fruit is lacking."

Since none of us perfectly displays the fruit of the Spirit, “fruit-of-the-Spirit-inspecting” can become a serious problem among Christians.

Seeing as Jesus had just condemned the critical attitude of condemning others for what we perceive as their sinful or un-Christian

behavior in Matthew 7:1-4, it is wrong to think that He would then turn around and tell us to judge someone by whether we consider they are producing the fruit of the Spirit.

There are many high profile teachers within the Calvinist camp that preach this wrong fruit inspection unfortunately.

"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."
Matthew 12: 33

Can it be any plainer that the “fruits” Jesus is speaking of are the words we speak, specifically our teachings, our doctrines?
To not see would have to be attributed to the inability to read.

“Whosoever transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed” (2 John 1:9-10).

These 9 fruits are major fruits and qualities that are coming direct from God Himself-and every Christian should do the best they can to work with the Holy Spirit in getting all 9 of these fruits worked into their personality.

They can dramatically change the quality of your life and state of well - being if you are willing to allow the Holy Spirit to start work all 9 of these fruits into your personality.

1..Love
2 Joy.
3 Peace.
4 Longsuffering.
5 Kindness.
6 Goodness.
7 Faithfulness
8 Gentleness.
9 Self Control.

The word “Spirit” is with a capital “S”- which means these 9 fruits are coming directly from the Holy Spirit.

NOT FROM OURSELVES.

God’s Love,God’s peace,God’s joy,and God’s goodness can start to be transmitted up into our personality.
These are His divine attributes and personality qualities that will start to move into the core of our personality.

Think about the ramifications of this-that God the Father Himself is allowing us to share in a part of His divine nature by allowing His Holy Spirit to transmit and impart these nine divine qualities right up into our soul and personality.

Interesting Paul called them "fruit" of the Spirit singular.

I wait with gleeful anticipation to see if you’re man enough to admit you’re guilty of any of the above. Don’t let your pride get in the way of being honest. God is watching. Unless of course God directs you to be dishonest.
Good luck....he has no integrity or honesty to stand up and admit error.....

Some people think the fruit referred to here has to do with the gifts of the Spirit-how many people they have won to Christ, how much they have prophesied in His Name and various other good works accomplished through the spiritual gifts.
But Jesus warns that there are many who call Him “Lord Lord” who had many such good works, who manifested the gifts of the Spirit, but nevertheless He never really knew them.Mathew 7:21-23.
When Jesus speaks about bearing fruit by abiding in him.
He is speaking about the fruit of the Spirit that comes forth in the lives of those who walk in the Spirit.

What it means to abide in Him.

The bearing of fruit, the fruit of the Spirit, can only come forth by abiding in Jesus and walking in the Spirit.
To abide in Jesus is a very active lifestyle!
It means to live in such a way that I am always found to be in him,to walk hand in hand with Him,to live according to his word.If you abide in me,and my words abide in you...it is clear that abiding in Jesus has to do with His words abiding in( I.e.dwelling in,having power in) my heart and mind.
When the words of Jesus abide and have power in my heart and mind such that I obey them by the power of the Spirit, then the fruit of the Spirit, the virtues of Jesus, will also come forth in my life.

More to follow on.

What it means to bear fruit.

How can I get the fruit of the Spirit.

The best way to bear fruit is to stay connected to the Vine, and that is Jesus,
Remember that what you sow,you will reap.
Sow to the Spirit and you will reap the fruit of the Spirit.
Spend time with God and you will grow in your ability to have the mind of Christ.
