Do you eat your own tithe for two years, then give the third year of tithe away? That is true tithing according to the law.

I'm not trying to discourage you from giving away your tithe every year. In fact, I would want you to do it that way. I just think people need to know the truth about Biblical tithing. Greedy creeps in ministry have been teaching it wrong, and obviously, with the intent of lining their pockets.

You left out the part about how you eat your own tithe (and share some with the Levites) for two years, but give it all to be stored up for the needy every third year .

I could not call myself a Christian (disciple of Christ) and not tithe.

If I was on my computer, I could go into greater detail, but on my phone it is simply too much.

Folks can do as they please, and when that day comes they will learn what God has to say about it.

As for poor people tithing...the lady who gave her only two pennies was surely blessed by Christ Himself.

There is nothing at all in Scripture about Isaac tithing. In Genesis 28, Jacob promised to tithe if God did this and that, but there is no record that he ever fulfilled his promise.

The passage in Hebrews is not talking about tithing per se, but about the greatness of Melchizedek. To argue that the passage encourages Christians to tithe is to misread it completely.

No; I went looking for a church where they didn't preach old covenant texts out of context to manipulate the people into giving.

Real Disciples do the works of Abraham and Abraham gave Tithe/Tenth? What happens to the other 90%?

If we were to do the works that Abraham did, we would not tithe on our income, because Abraham did not tithe on his income. He tithed one time to Melchizedek, and only on the spoils of war.

Have you led and won on any military conquests lately? Yeah... me neither.

Good question! We fight Elohim's/God's Battles and Elohim/God is Invincible, having Power over all things. We are surrounded by enemies on every side and ridiculously outnumbered by Two to Ten Thousand and, yet, We Shall Prevail.

I can certainly see your position with regards to Abraham. Christians follow and belong to Christ. When Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees, he was calling them out for their hypocrisy. They said Abraham was their Father. Well as the Jewish Leaders, they were not doing as Abraham did. Also, they were not believing in Jesus claims about himself. No where in the New Covenant are we Christians are called to tithe. We give as to what our hearts determines what we should give. Of course we should give out love for our Father, but Jesus nor the Apostles gave a commandment to do so.

Your error is trying to define tithing under the Law. Christ fulfilled the Law. Tithing under Grace us not based on the Law, but on Grace.

Tithing today is an act of love, not an act of obedience. People stand around, arms wide open, praying... gimme, gimme, gimme God... but they never bother to give to Him. It that proof of their love for Him?

Not every person who promotes tithing is a greedy creep... that's a sorry broad brush condemnation of millions of people you have never met, and it is not Christian IMO

There are many people who think they have to tithe simply because it's in the law. And I figger if you're going to do it for that reason you ought to at least do it the way the law says to do it. And that means eating your own tithe for two years (and giving some of it to the Levites), and in the third year (called the year of the tithe-Deuteronomy 26:12) putting all of your tithe in store somewhere to be distributed to the Levites (those in ministry), orphans, and widows.

What a shock to our modern day creep pastors who teach tithing in order to fleece the flock that according to the rules of tithing for two years they only get part of it, in an amount that we decide, while we eat the rest, and only in the third year is it stored up for ministers, orphans, and widows. Maybe they need to go back to selling cars, lol.

How about the Ministers anointed by God to Pastor His flock who teach tithing? Are all of them trying to line their pockets? The average Pastor in America is not paid enough to support his/her family. They work outside of the Church to do so.

Tithes go to various uses to keep a Church open. Not just lining pockets of greedy creeps

There's no need to say this. We all know this. There are good pastors and there are greedy creep pastors. I'm out of time but I'll share a story when I get back that just happened in my town.

In all the churches I have been to, and in the Church of God Reformation Movement .. no one tithes because they believe it's the Law. We don't teach Law, we teach Grace. Church teaching Law isn't Christian.
