Could someone anywhere tell me in all the threads about the law in Bible discussion what law are they talking about  The Ten Comandments ? Or all the OT laws from the part of The Bible which the Jewish faith calls the Torah?
The books of the law (in our Bible) are the first five books, called the Pentateuch. This is what Jesus said about it in

Matthew 5:
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

The entire book of Matthew is a fantastic study on Jesus' teachings about the law and what the follower of Christ is to do with it. In the latter chapters of Matthew Jesus confronts the Pharisees/Sadducees about loading down the people with the law, but not following it themselves or understanding the spirit of it. They did not understand because they did not have the Spirit of God within them to illuminate it, so they were legalists. Dead inside. They were concerned with the outer man rather than cleansing the inner man.

As Midnite said above, Jesus taught us (also in Matthew) that if you are clean from the inside first, the outside will following, meaning that once we are in right relationship with Christ the Holy Spirit will chip away at the things that don't belong in our lives, as long as WE are willing to submit.

If you are interested in reading them, please, please, please read the New Testament first, so that you will fully understand that we are now under grace through the saving power of Jesus Christ. You will learn other things too.

EXAMPLE: I made the mistake of reading the Bible from cover to cover rather than the New Testament first and thought for a couple of days that I was not allowed to eat meat when I was about your age. :)

Legalism is very dangerous. Many folks in the Bible Forum are consumed by it. Please be very careful in there. That's a slippery slope. We are here to help you if have more questions. I am sorry I had just gone to bed when you asked your question. :) God bless you!

God bless you!
you notice how when our younger sister in Christ asks them questions they run and hide. Ashamed of their false doctrine.
Thank you for guiding her, they supposedly have the answers but would deny them to a child. I will pray for them, I know what Jesus said about keeping the children from Him.
Thank you
love you,

No one ran away. Most of us simply were in bed when the post was made. :)

Cute new guy working overnights at the house I work at, seems my age, nice, decent looking, most likely Christian (many people in my agency are). Had a decent conversation. He mention that he has a 'big day' today, my first thought was 'oh he's probably getting married, or asking his long time girlfriend to marry him. Just my luck'. I didn't ask him what it was.

I just posted a new thread because people are nuts. This forum has lost its mind.

And not in a fun way! :)

Her nickname Buckets comes from her Dad, he calls her Buckets of Wonderful and she truly is.
She doesn't need my defense, she is so pure of heart and full of love.
I am not as innocent sadly, I am praying to be more like her in her grace and kindness. Someday I'll grow up and be more like a child in knowing Christ.

I say just little nice things to the law keepers and normally kinda ignore those threads. Like I say it's silly she doesn't need my defending. It is kinda the big sister in me. I have two baby brothers.

Anyway I've rambled too much and derailed this thread...
love you,

Sometimes we need to defend people because they need our help. But other times we defend people because its just right, even if they don't need it. And yet other times we do so because we care about the person. You shouldn't apologize for sticking up for someone. Especially not someone as close to you as Buckets is.

And we all struggle with our attitudes. You have a great attitude, so don't let who you were in the past affect who you are now. Forget about who you were. God made you new since then, so keep your focus on your new life and heart and put away the past.

Also this thread is about sharing whatever random thought you had. There is no topic to derail.

I think she meant the bible forum people.

Hmm... sounds like you are going off presumption. About him getting married or engaged. I'm assuming that thinking is an INFP trait? As i tend to have attitudes like that about things as well. So... stop it *poke

Annnnnd, I'm going to wear boldish eye shadow!

A friend of mine broke up with her boyfriend because he didn't like the shade of eyeshadow she was wearing. He told her to take it off, she said no, and he broke up with her.

Yep.
Too bad, people do not see from the inside, for if the inside is clean the whole cup is clean, and so who has cleaned the inside?

I miss Jilly81. Where oh where is she??? *checks calendar for rapture date*
JIMMMM!!!!! Someone told me you said this here, so I found it! And here I am! I missed you as well, and the others too. I've been working a lot. Also, this wireless internet has been behaving very poorly lately. I suspect its parents have been making excuses for its mistakes and possibly even rewarding it when it has been naughty :(. Perhaps that's presumptuous of me, but I've seen a bit of that in humans lately...

I found out today that the guy I've been trying to stop liking (and who I thought might like me back) likes another girl. I'm a little bummed and trying not to be too hard on myself . I'll be fine... This is how it always goes and I manage to survive and be OK. At least now I know 100% that I will stop liking him. I'm glad for his friendship anyway.

Do you want me to punch him in the face? Or send the mob after him? Or some ninjas? I know a guy who knows some ninjas...
