Abraham was saved in Gen 15.

In the passage you spoke of. He tests our faith in growing in him. Not passing a test to get to heaven

neither one of those passage hint at passing a test to earn the right to go to heaven

You want to do that. Go follow the law. Because that is the true test of if you passed or not
