If a person is led by the Spirit then they are not led by the desires of the flesh, and will follow the Lord.

It is to those who hear and follow, that receive the promise of eternal life.

Those who practice the works of the flesh, will not inherit the kingdom of God.

John said a child of God can do this

So your point is Null. it is meaningless

Since a child of God can not practice works of the flesh. They can not lose salvation.

It's nice that you think so much of what I say that you save my posts.
Think of this:

God has, from the beginning of the human race, DEMANDED that we obey Him so that we could be blessed by Him in the O.T.
and saved by Him in the N.T.

Hi Bud,

You say we are caught in sin until we die, though called holy, righteous, sinless.

This is a statement of faith, which if true, would lead to your conclusions.
If on the other hand we do not accept this, but rather the flesh is cleansed of sin, we are purified,
literally, made whole and acceptable before God as cleansed believers, then your proposition is wrong.

The priests in the temple were regarded as Holy, purified and went through a purification process.
You do not believe this actually happened, and they were just regarded as Holy while not being so.

This is not what God declared.

Take the Levites from among the other Israelites and make them ceremonially clean.
To purify them, do this: Sprinkle the water of cleansing on them; then have them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes, and so purify themselves.
Numbers 8:7-8

The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes. Then Aaron presented them as a wave offering before the LORD and made atonement for them to purify them.
After that, the Levites came to do their work at the Tent of Meeting under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. They did with the Levites just as the LORD commanded Moses.
Num 8:21-22

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

If you do not believe scripture you can never be pure.
if you do not recognize the proper definition of sin, how can you know you are not sinning ?

The above is true.

We don't become lost by committing a sin.
We become lost by WANDERING away....
Just like the Prodigal Son did,,,.just like the sheep did.

In the N.T. the word LOST means lost from salvation...away from God...
A soul that is lost be belonging to God.
One who is lost does NOT follow God but the enemy...

Those that follow God are always the FOUND.

In the Prodigal Son Jesus Himself says of the son:

Luke 15:24
24for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate.

We can see that Jesus likens LOST with being DEAD.
And being FOUND with celebrating,,,,as heaven celebrates over ONE LOST SINNER.

In the parable of the lost sheep...Jesus shows that the sheep has become LOST by leaving the other 99. The attempt is made to FIND him so that we could celebrate over the lost sheep being found.

In the Pr. Son,,,the son himself realizes what a mistake he made and returns to the Father.

In the Lost Sheep, the sheep needs assistance and Jesus goes after the sheep.
Today, He left the church and us to do this deed of helping those that are in need...
be it physical or spiritual.

I fail to understand why this is even argued....

The lost need salvation, as a sinner.

They must repent, and return to the Lord, and be reconciled back to Him.

  • if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard,

And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
Colossians 1:21-23

amen brother

my faith in Gods promises wont change😏

being kept by HIS power is wonderful
He's not saying that he believes he is kept by God's power...

Go back and read the conversation....

He's saying that he believes in OSAS which means that after one is saved
HE COULD SIN ALL HE WANT TO AND STILL BE SAVED.

To THIS he answered : "Darn Tootin', I believe it".

Do YOU also believe this?

negative. their is no such thing as getting saved and losing it and getting saved and....... over and over.

there is such a thing as one professing Christ, yet not being 100% committed . that is, I think, what you legalists fail to understand.

a person that is claiming to be saved, but does not truly believe is going to look very similar to a true believer struggling with sin.

that, sunshine, is why we are told not to judge.
Hebrews says if we could fall away, there is no chance of restoration..so if salvation could be lost, they would be doomed forever

Are you one of His sheep?

Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If a person is led by the Spirit then they are not led by the desires of the flesh, and will follow the Lord.
It's about the direction of our walk and not the perfection of our walk. Walking according to the Spirit is descriptive of children of God. Those who are habitually dominated by the sinful nature (unbelievers) put their minds on the things of the sinful nature, but those who are habitually dominated by the Spirit (believers) put their minds on the things of the Spirit.

Romans 8:8 - So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

It is to those who hear and follow, that receive the promise of eternal life.
Hearing and following is descriptive of children of God (Matthew 10:27-29), yet what is the root cause of why they will receive eternal life? (John 3:15,16,18; Acts 10:43; 13:39; 16:31; Romans 1:16; 3:22-28; 4:5-6 etc..).

Those who practice the works of the flesh, will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Practicing the works of the flesh is descriptive of the unrighteous (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21) IN CONTRAST to children of God who practice righteousness and not sin (1 John 3:9-10).

Sin is missing the mark.
It's not rebelling...you could think of it like that but that would be arguing with God.
I feel that if we get to the point of "rebelling",,,we are in danger of being lost.
When we sin,,,we are to be sorry for that sin and endeavor not to repeat it. ENDEAVOR.

I once used to think it's OK to call ourselves sinners because we still sin every day.
I've come to change my mind about this with the help of a member of a different forum.

What do YOU think? Is it right to call ourselves sinners?
If you steal, you are a thief. If you kill, you are a murderer. If you lie, you are a liar. If you sin, you are a sinner.

"Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." (James 4:17)

And just as the sin of divination is called rebellion in 1 Samuel 15:23, so are all other sins. By sinning, you are rebelling against God's order - His rules, His commandments. You are opposing them when you choose to sin.

"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." 1 John 3:9)
How do you measure up to this?
I measure up. Think a little. If we walk with Jesus sin burns within us and we work to resolve it all.

No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.
1 John 3:9

The verse quoted uses two words - practices - poiei and continues sinning - hamartanein

So this does not say a believe will not stumble or have struggles and issues, but their desire and direction
is to walk righteously.

So this is my heart also, where my commitment and spirit reside in Christ, to walk as Jesus walked.

If you walk in unbelief that this is Gods passion for you, little wonder you do not see it working out in your life
because unbelief does not reside with Gods power.

And since all Christians still sin, we are choosing to rebel daily.
So you choose to be rebellious? And born again?......

You either is or you ant.....bitter water and sweet water cannot come from the same fountain

That's like mixing horse manure with banna pudding........I ant eaten it. LOL

I thought you believed his sheep, hear his voice and follow him......you are not following Jesus into rebellion

yes, the lost need salvation.

but, even though the sheep was lost, it still belonged to the Shepherd. ''''' I have found my lost sheep....

so, the sheep, being a member of the Shepherds flock, just needed to be found, not saved.

this is how you are reading this story - you have the Shepherd saying " I have found a lost sheep, if the sheep, if the sheep joins My flock, and follows me correctly, it can be mine."
this is how you keep presenting this story . it is NOT what the parable of the lost sheep says.

So YOU also believe in OSAS.

Once you are born again...you can sin all you want to and not become lost again.

Please provide scripture that states the above.

What YOU have posted says that we cannot be separated from the love of God which IS IN CHRIST Jesus,,,our Lord.

1. How is Jesus your Lord if you are not FOLLOWING Him because of sinning?

2. How does God love you if you're living a life of sin?

"For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins," (Heb. 10:26). If there is no sacrifice available for you, then God's wrath abides upon you because He hates sin and your sin is not removed (John 3:36). Trust Jesus alone or the wrath of God will abide upon you forever.

So you think you can go 24 hours and not sin?.

While i agree god will not temp us above what we can handle, but that does not mean we do not sin.

Are you to thinking sin is overt actions only?
My question was ....what sins do we commit everyday that God doesn't give us a way of escape from?

In light of this.....what sin do I HAVE to commit????

The ones I do commit I have to bypass God's way of escape and rebel.......Samuel told King Saul rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
