The word in Verse 1 is not "SOON [ADVERB]" (nor any ADVERBS ['quickLY' 'immediateLY' etc]), but the NOUN "IN QUICKNESS"

Lot was not left behind on the contrary, angels help them by Taken them by the hand to get to Zoar.
Gen 19
15At daybreak the angels hurried Lot along, saying, “Get up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.” 16But when Lot hesitated, the men grabbed his hand and the hands of his wife and his two daughters. And they led them safely out of the city, because of the LORD’s compassion for them.

Swept away in punishment just as the people in Noah’s time, the ark had taken Noah and his family away
Lot was saved and the people of Sodom faced the wrath and destruction of God. His wife looked back and was destroyed because she was still attached to the world and the things of this world. That's why Jesus spoke about his disciples not to go in their house for their possessions and reminded them of Lots wife.

Noah and his family remained in the ark and on the earth everyone else were swept away in the flood.

I think you're mixing two coming's of Jesus into one lump. Some of those verses apply to Jesus coming back from the dead at his resurrection and some apply to the second advent.
The two comings of Jesus are his birth and his return to earth at his second advent. His resurrection has never been considered as ''a coming'' by the Church as a whole. The only people who might believe this are full Preterists

Luk 17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
Luk 17:35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Luk 17:36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Luk 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

I wish I could remember who pointed this out to me so I could give them credit for it, but someone on CC showed me this a year or two ago and I got busy and kind of forgot about it. That person showed me that the ones that were taken, were taken to the dead body in verse 37.

I believe the dead body was the body of Christ and the eagles are believers. One reason I believe this is because we mount up with eagles wings and we feed on the body of Christ... there are other reasons to, but now I have satisfied the requirements of p_rehbein, I've given my thoughts lol.

What are your thought?
What is the dead body and what do the eagles represent?
I will always believe the simplest answer is the best way to go with the word of GOD, because we are told to not be removed from the simplicity found in Christ.....Jesus spoke in parables, metaphorically, and used imagery on a regular basis......to me it simply means......they will be gathered to me........

He used similar verbiage to describe his VISIBLE coming....I.E. Lightning cracking in the east and shining unto the west and and the "buzzards" eagles gathered on a carcass in the ditch.

That’s correct than saying lot got left behind.

"The body" is not the body of Christ.

"Wherever the carcass (dead body) is, there will the eagles/vultures be gathered"

In the scripture, the "one taken" group are compared to those taken in the flood, which makes them wicked as well. Based on this along, the reference to "the body" can not referring to the body of Christ. To interpret it that way, would be terrible misapplication.

Yes the body left is the dead bodies .Let the dead typified eagles bury the dead. Not the resurrected body . . .signified as lambs, the clean animal .

Recall, I'd said that it is the "future aspects" of the Book that "must come to pass IN QUICKNESS [NOUN]"... not the 1:19a and 1:19b things, but the 1:19C things [<--like 4:1 says/covers also].

These conclude with His Second Coming to the earth in Rev19.

So, the "IN QUICKNESS [NOUN]" time period (in addition to being relatively short in duration), CONCLUDES with His return to the earth (Rev19).

See the Greek:

I think I get what you’re saying now. Basically when the ball gets rolling it goes quickly is this correct?

To add to that, since the English does not imply that meaning at all, the Greek meaning of those verses is COMPLETELY the opposite of the English meaning. Would you agree?

Some more verses to consider in which taken are the wicked ones, "none is left", as in destruction, and taking as spoils of prey in war. This same attitude translates to spiritual war, God always treats the wicked in the same way, they are taken and none is left.

Deuteronomy 2:34 And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:
Joshua 10:37 And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.
1 Samuel 17:20 And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle.
Job 39:25 He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
Numbers 31:53 (For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.)
1 Samuel 27:9 And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.
Jeremiah 51:56 Because the spoiler is come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite.

The dead body may refer to both believers and the unbelievers. Since the unbelievers didn't accept the death of Jesus, they died themselves at the pouring of judgment of God upon them "in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double", while the believers accepted Jesus drinking the cup of wine of wrath of God. So whatever is slain, it's probably safe to conclude the dead body is slain as a result of pouring of the wrath of God since the whole part is about separation of saints and sinners, and judgment of God.

In many places in the Bible it's emphasized that "not one left" of the wicked, or similar descriptions to that effect.
The left is probably the righteous. Left as in spared, otherwise it would imply some kind of abandoning or leaving behind, which makes little sense. God acts more straightforwardly than that.
I'm leaning towards understanding that the wicked are taken.

Seems the taken away happens after the gathering

Matthew 25
31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Is Luke 17 referring to this

Matthew 25
41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

When Jesus resurrected and came back to earth, do you think he came back in power and glory?

There is another body we have aside from the physical.
Ezek 26:36 calls it a heart of flesh.
The same heart that never dies
The same heart that looks exactly like you do physically.
Your heart is a carbon copy of what you look like in the natural.
Maybe it's referring to that body.

When Jesus resurrected and came back to earth, do you think he came back in power and glory?
Sure, but he didn't come back with all his angels and sit on his throne and divide the good and bad at that time did he? He didn't send the good to heaven and the bad to hell, after he resurrected did he? I'm pretty sure that's still to come!

Parable of the net
47Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea and caught all kinds of fish. 48When it was full, the men pulled it ashore. Then they sat down and sorted the good fish into containers, but threw the bad away.

49So will it be at the end of the age: The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous,

All the little fishes in one net

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. 28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
It doesn't get any plainer than that. (y)
This here opposes literalizing the Second Coming as an apocalyptic event (and literal Rapture with people flying in the air, etc), because in that interpretation Jesus would be a made into false prophet. I don't know how do people who believe in literal Apocalypse explain it.
This states that Jesus has come again, while some or all apostles were still alive, in the glory of his Father with His angels, and has rewarded, and/or is rewarding every man according to their works.
One could attempt to spiritualize away some portions of what Jesus said in order to ultimately literalize apocalyptic events, but it's kind of jumping into one's own mouth.
We can't forget about this verse that was written after the resurrection.... Christ will come again in the end.

2Ti 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Some prophecy verses are about his resurrection but some are about his second advent... that's why this topic is sooooo confusing. Every word matters and has to be believed as it is stated in order to arrive at the truth.

I'll come back for more later. ;)

I was thinking along this same line...except there’s a place where the body takes on immortality.

Perhaps we are clumping these scriptures all together, Luke, Matthew, Thessalonians, when they aren’t meant to be?

Just be ready to go whichever...

He created a huge catch of fish on the beach, sitting by a camp fire
Do you think the angel of the Lord whose countenance was like lightning, descending from heaven looked like a bolt of lightning?

Mat 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
Mat 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
