The point I am struggling to make is that God can be seen in patterns. Many times God's people began in obedience to His righteousness and time after time they drifted away from his word and fell. This pattern can be seen in history after the exodus, in the 12 tribes in Canaan, throughout the period of the Judges and certainly in the records of Israel's Kings. It appears again during the period of the unified nation under David and Solomon, and can there really be any question about the events that lead to the exile of Ephraim/Israel and Judah?

When have I ever said that I/ we don’t study the OC? I said it’s no longer in effect; we don’t live under that covenant— it was fulfilled and nailed to the cross.

This is America that did trade with the world and lived deliciously and in pleasure.

The Bible says Babylon will never have physical dominion again but her ways are on earth and she does not fall until Jesus puts down the world.

I believe God is allowing America to start the separation process between those who love Him and those who do not.

We have a pattern even in our political side that seems to be somewhat dual. Even though we differ how we operate.
The U.S. was founded on Christian principles Israel was created by God but both trust in God. The same God. Why would it be different?

First from history, especially from the First Testament itself. This pattern of nations beginning in a covenant relationship with God is repeated multiple timed throughout history. The United States began as a covenant nation. Our enemies were indeed "devoured" (defeated) when they opposed this covenant and we indeed were given a rich fertile land that not only allows us to eat, but to also feed many less favored nations.

In the First Testament there are multiple examples of people making a covenant with God. All that is required is for one to be a believer. Even someone like me can do so, I did just that during my marriage to Bestwife.
