I know what Jeremiah wrote about the people of Israel in the OT times….so now you’re projecting onto the US?
In this case, you can project it onto the whole world. :)

However, I think President Trump is doing a pretty good job of turning the country back to the Right (Conservatism). No more of these loony, Leftist, evil ideologies. :)

Give God the glory!!

The point I am struggling to make is that God can be seen in patterns. Many times God's people began in obedience to His righteousness and time after time they drifted away from his word and fell. This pattern can be seen in history after the exodus, in the 12 tribes in Canaan, throughout the period of the Judges and certainly in the records of Israel's Kings. It appears again during the period of the unified nation under David and Solomon, and can there really be any question about the events that lead to the exile of Ephraim/Israel and Judah?

If we refuse to study half of God's word we will be making a very big mistake. He doesn't change, the church is not exempt.

Yes, it would seem the whole of the OT is full of God’s anger toward His people.
So thankful for Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice!!

When have I ever said that I/ we don’t study the OC? I said it’s no longer in effect; we don’t live under that covenant— it was fulfilled and nailed to the cross.

Jer 2:1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Jer 2:2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

Jer 2:3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.

Jer 2:4 Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel.

When it says Jerusalem, and Israel, it is talking about in the Middle East which God gave the Hebrews the land of Canaan.

How can someone think it is the United States unless they are a Mormon.

Also Israel is the only nation that is holy unto the LORD for Israel was the only nation to do it right before the LORD.

All other nations if they did acknowledge the God of Israel mixed in the occult, and heathen ways.

America is highly selfish, highly arrogant, cannot get enough money, the politicians are divided and fight with each other, they allow fleshy pleasures, worldly pleasures, sins of the flesh.

They allow all religions to be practiced there including Satanism, the occult, and the new age which shall deceive the world which the new age is an American plan, and allows atheism, and evolution.

America has the Babylonian spirit anything goes multiculturism, and the practice of all religions.

Rev 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Rev 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

This is America that did trade with the world and lived deliciously and in pleasure.

This does not apply to Iraq who is modern day Babylon.

The Bible says Babylon will never have physical dominion again but her ways are on earth and she does not fall until Jesus puts down the world.

Which America resurrected the Babylonian spirit.

Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

I believe God is allowing America to start the separation process between those who love Him and those who do not.

Which she allows Christianity to be preached in the nation and the world but also allows the false religions and worldliness.

That doesn't compute. God has but one chosen people and they do not live on this continent. The USA is not God's chosen people. God is not in covenant with the US. Individually of course but that's all. Every promise in the OT is not for every person on earth. That is a conclusion that is not found in scripture but is taught in some circles.

When did America make a covenant with God?

April 30th, 1789

The day was April 30th, 1789. This was a day of making covenant with Almighty God for The United States of America. A proclamation was made for the sacred gathering at Federal Hall. “Come and see your President take his oath and pray that God will accept this land as His

Seeker is right . We in the west tend to ignore the patterns of God. In judgement, restoration, even in our farming department.
We have a pattern even in our political side that seems to be somewhat dual. Even though we differ how we operate.
The U.S. was founded on Christian principles Israel was created by God but both trust in God. The same God. Why would it be different?

First from history, especially from the First Testament itself. This pattern of nations beginning in a covenant relationship with God is repeated multiple timed throughout history. The United States began as a covenant nation. Our enemies were indeed "devoured" (defeated) when they opposed this covenant and we indeed were given a rich fertile land that not only allows us to eat, but to also feed many less favored nations.

Our God is a God of patterns. Days follow patterns, years follow patterns, the moon follows patterns, our lives follow patterns, the results of our behavior follow patterns. This is one of the clearest ways we can know God. When we learn His patterns we learn Him.
Just checking before I make a fool of myself - by "First Testament" do you mean what is usually called the Old Testament? If so, what nation other than Israel/Judah was in a covenant relationship with God?

That is not, was not and never will be a covenant with God. This is an error that is taught by those who clearly do not understand the Old Testament or the fact that Israel alone was chosen by God as a nation in covenant with God. April 30 1789 was the inauguration of the first president of the US.

Did America’s Founders intend to create a Christian nation? Does it matter today and, if so, why?

In order to arrive at a proper answer to the first question, one must recognize that “the Founding Fathers” were a diverse group of individuals who held diverse views on most subjects – including religion. Generally, one cannot accurately make blanket statements beginning with “the Founding Fathers believed.”

Second, not everyone who lived during the Founding era was a “Founding Father”; so not all voices are equal as evidence. Third, the Puritans did not found America – they founded Massachusetts. There is no reason to elevate their views or experience above those of other colonies; the Founders themselves did not give Massachusetts or its representatives preeminence philosophically or politically.

Fourth, some of the more prominent Founders meant something different by the word “Christianity” than do 21st-century evangelical Christians. Consequently, it is not appropriate or intellectually honest to quote their uses of the word to audiences today without explaining that they meant a system of moral teachings and not orthodox biblical Christianity. Fifth, like today, denominational labels were not very accurate determinants of personal belief in 18th-century America.

Finally, Christianity and deism were not the only two religious options available to 18th-century Americans.

None mentioned in scripture.

In the First Testament there are multiple examples of people making a covenant with God. All that is required is for one to be a believer. Even someone like me can do so, I did just that during my marriage to Bestwife.

The idea that Israel can apply to the US is based on Romans 2:28-29 combined with most citizens identifying as Christian.
All who attacked the US were defeated until the Korean War.
The US has much fertile land.
Of course, the application is speculation.

The United States began as a covenant nation.

no,

it began as a money grab by imperialist European nations, murdering the native people, and quickly became a home for every kind of heretic to spread false teaching without any correction, and a place where people could exploit each other and pursue all their own vanities and lusts.

it is not and never has been a 'people of God' in any sense whatsoever remotely like Israel. The US began pagan and remains pagan.

Look, you can call cat a dog all you want and religiously believe it but it will still be a cat. I understand you are deep deep into what you have been taught, but your teacher(s) are wrong and too many people in this nation suffer under the misconception of the beginnings of this nation. I say suffer because deception is never a good thing.

There is another First Testament concept called "Hardened Hearts". Pharaoh, King Hezekiah, Israel/Ephraim and Judah all learned the real meaning of those words. Is it not worth our time to consider them now or has that too been made obsolete?

Oh I will, and here we have another profile person who guards any info. To me and just my opinion its like wearing a mask.
If you are even a Christian did you ever consider your under the same covenant as Israel is today.
That yet again our identity as a founded Christian nation is under scrutiny just as Israel's identity s under scrutiny.
Even though our declaration and money all are inscribed as such.
Now how's that for a duel progression. I believe that the attack on "let's change history" tear down monuments renaming them let's rewrite history to our liking has had a great deal of effect on so many discussions its become a cornerstone of lies.

Another one? My profile is not your business. If you think that your judgement on my having it so equals the possibility that I am not a Chrisitan, that is some strange bias on your part. Your emotions do not equal the facts or the truth. This nation is not a Christian nation nor is it in covenant with God. Take care your disrespectful judgement does not involve saying things about others that you do not know. Your opinions are that and only that; just your opinions.

If you actually had 'proof' of what you say you believe, you would not have made comments about me personally.

The people who think the US has taken Israel's place is filled with pride & arrogance, as well as false patriotism
