I haven't kept up much just posting here and there once in awhile in this thread so who is winning?
Most of the time the "fear of the Lord" (which is a huge biblical theme throughout the bible) is not talking about "fear" in the sense of terror, or frightening or apprehension. It's talking about reverential, respectful honoring awe and of the Creator. In fact, the "fear of the Lord" is a grace of God that he promised to unilaterally and effectually instill into his New Covenant people (Jer 32:40) for the explicit purpose, stated in this particular passage, of preserving his chosen people. In other words, the "fear of the Lord" is more than just the "beginning" of wisdom, it is the ongoing, sanctifying, preserving grace that will carry the believe to the end of his life. It is in a real sense the Alpha and Omega of the believer's life!
In other words, they're not equal. The "wheat" have one destiny and the "tares" quite another!
Why don't you dazzle us with your knowledge of Scripture and tell us what YOU think God's character is.

I imagine that Paul's concern about what others thought of ceased abruptly the moment he was knocked off of his horse. He certainly didn't even try to argue with Jesus but spent the remainder of His life declaring how his blindness revealed to him how wrong he had been. So many high horses, yet so little time, even as it flies.

"Holy, holy, holy" is an intimation of the Trinity. Is not the Father holy? And the Son? And the Holy Spirit? Are not the Three Persons One God?

Yesterday is I was listening to the Christian talk radio broadcast online while at work... or maybe it was Tuesday ...I heard somebody teaching on the wheat and the tares, and they said one of the differences between the real vegetation is that the wheat has a white inside and the tares are black inside... I find God's attention to such detail quite spectacular really.

Yup and here we are .. when we start with a perversion of what the Bible clearly teaches on coming to "belief and faith."

Punctuation really does exist for a very good reason. Poor punctuation can muddy a person's meaning.
Better to agree with a caveat when unsure than to just jump in not knowing.
Punctual comes to mind. It really is about timing. Punctuation helps identify pauses, stops, segues, and tangents.
