I would think that the Democrats do not want this to happen because anyone involved in looting can be prosecuted for a felony and lose the right to vote. Even if this does not happen immediately, they'll have photos and other evidence and over the next six months prosecute them. Meanwhile all those living in the big cities, especially if they don't have stand your ground laws, most of which are "blue" will be freaked out by what is going on. Like they say, a conservative is simply a liberal who got mugged.
But here is the thing, the Democrats need some fig leaf from the Republicans, some small concession so they can claim victory. I don't think Trump will give them anything. I think this is what he wants, he can cut the programs. Suppose 42 million Americans are getting assistance and only 442,000 actually loot. That is only 1%. No one is going to care, they will paint all recipients with the same brush, 442,000 looters, all of which claiming they demand their entitlements. People with jobs will be disgusted. If they are mugging women coming out of grocery stores, those people are quickly going to become conservatives and all this a year before the 2026 elections.
And the math can be adjustable depending upon the amount the earners make and the amount the takers take. Add to the takers the taking by the ones the takers are voting for (and many they didn't vote for) and the earners were insignificant long ago = 36T in debt.

Every other nation we sell to imposes tariffs on goods from the US and they do this to limit imports so companies in their own country get to produce and sell most of the goods / services within their country
It's time the US does the same, and the benefit as we are seeing now is these countries don't want to pay high tariffs so now all of a sudden they want to negotiate a trade deal with the US which is very beneficial as they go down on their own tariffs which enables US companies to sell more in these nations that want to negotiate a fair deal.
But, we should always keep at least a 10% or 15% tariff on all incoming goods / services if for no other reason to pay towards the interest on our national debit
