And yet Jesus spoke of the age to come, commonly called the Church Age
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Still with the NoooKJV:
Matt 13:38 “The field is the world (Greek - kosmos), the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
Matt 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."
World = oikoumene
G3625 oikoumene oy-kou-men'-ay
feminine participle present passive of G3611 (as noun, by implication, of G1093);
land, i.e. the (terrene part of the) globe; specially, the Roman empire.
KJV: earth, world.
Paul stated the gospel had been preached in all the "world"
(Col 1:23 NKJV) if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
And that the word had gone out to all the earth:
Rom 10:18 But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed: “Their sound has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.
The conditions for the end of the "world" had been met during and through Paul's ministry.
That would mean that Revelation 13:8 says the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (church age).... not from the begining of time or eternity past or whatever people thinks that verse means lol. Nice J7!
Revelation 13:8 KJV
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Nah. If this all happened AD70, then there would be nothing causing offence left in the Kingdom.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
How is this in Canuck?
stop being a jerk.
No, because World here is Kosmos. In Matthew it is aion, meaning age.
I'm in his kingdom and I can assure you that I offend people on a regular basis... all I have to do is say KJV and inerrant in the same sentence and people get offended lol.There is nothing in his kingdom that "offends" - if you are "offensive" it's a sure sign you ain't in it...![]()
We are English speakers though lol. Kosmos and aion in a least one occasion in the bible were used in interchangeable ways. Anyway, it helped me understand it because Jesus was slain at the foundation of the new aion - world - church age.
I'm sure he did but the Lamb only had to be slain ONCE.Lol. I think God had planned the redemption of mankind from the very start...God being omniscient and all that
I'm in his kingdom and I can assure you that I offend people on a regular basis... all I have to do is say KJV and inerrant in the same sentence and people get offended lol.
So do I - but that doesn't mean I committed a bible offence.
The Greek for "offend" in the passage in question is skandalon
I used to be a bit of a likeable scandal years ago...![]()
No need for us to get frustrated, these are hard things to understand for sure. We do very well when we just agree to disagree.... PW's errors (I love you PW) have helped me to see many many things that I didn't see before. He's like unlocking scriptures that I never understood before.
