That's like, what.... nearly 2 miles? Good grief... it looks like it took about 4 seconds for the bullet to arrive.... that's crazy.

Yes.... wind drift has a huge effect on bullet trajectory... it's amazing how far off a 10mph crosswind can push a bullet. And at that distance you will have winds blowing different directions. The bullet might drift left for the first couple hundred yards, then drift back to the right for the next couple hundred, etc..... the path of the bullet would probably look like a snake.... PLUS the drop ..... guys that can consistently dope the wind, etc on long shots like that are in very rare company... not many can do it.Yeah, that was incredible.

I've never seen this in YouTube before with a cold bore. I think most of the extreme ranges are guys walking it in for a long time. This couple really enjoy ELRS.
No.... the farthest I've shot at a target is 200 yds...
I've shot at tree stumps, etc, at longer distances, but I don't know how far they were, accurately... probably no more than 600 yds... this was down the Red River when the water levels were down...
I live in a state With too many hills.
They closed the only range open for the public.
I'd like to try elr some day just for the fun of it. In the meantime, I'll just watch that channel.

I've seen him shoot, his wife pour him a cup of coffee and while they wait for the dust to kick up.
Kidding of course, but I've seen some of his shooting that stayed in flight for 7+ seconds, absolutely amazing!
It would take too long to find that session, but here's one that's close and that's no lightweight low velocity round.

As far as I know, there are no regulations on air rifles... they are not classified as firearms.
I know you can get a suppressor for them without any red tape. I've looked into the PCP airguns, and there are some amazing rifles for small game/pest control... they are not really cheap... to get a decent one in the "beginner" category, it will set you back $300 to 500 ....
You also need to get a pump, to pump them up to the 2-3000 lbs pressure that they hold. Or, you can get your air canister filled at a scuba tank place.
The latest thing is large cartridges of nitrogen, I think, much like the little CO2 cartridges from years back... I think each of these cartridges will give maybe 100 shots, depending on caliber of rifle and velocity wanted.
It's definitely amazing, the accuracy and range of these rifles. I've talked to people that routinely shoot 1/2" groups at 50 yards with them...
