That awkward moment when the FDA Inspector recognizes you at the grocery store but you don't recognize him because he is jacketed, hair and face netted.

(Like duh. Who else walks around the grocery all covered up like that?

I'm not saying it's wrong to be attracted to someone. I'm just saying... Please consider her feelings.

And I'm sorry, tin, ole, and shiney, I'm a little disappointed you liked this post, I thought you 3 at least knew me better, and you KNOW we were all joking at the time, and you also know you can talk to me one on one about ANYthing, good or bad, as we've done in the past. The joke was running from someone drooling, and how 'appealing' that is, har, har, har, lol, lol , lol, to falling on one's face, even more appealing, har har lol, to oh my I think im falling for someone whos face down in a puddle of drool har har lol rofl you had to be there its not that funny anyway and no harm no foul no prob. And then ... ta da, a phony rescue operation. You CANT joke with the best of them, you CAN be a buzzkill even if you dont mean it, and 'many other young ladies im attracted to'??!! Who do you think you are, YOU DONT KNOW ME AT ALL! Get over yourself. I'm 55, I'm a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and am accountable to Him, and am not interested in any 'young ladies' half my age. And, YOUR SORRY FOR MY LONELINESS?! And my EAGERNESS to find a woman here?! What kind of thing is THAT to say about someone on a public Christian forum, someone YOU DONT KNOW AT ALL, and have NEVER taken the time to get to, not in a pm, not thru prayer, nothing kind at all directed to me personally, so cut the bullONEY! Everything I said was in reference to things you've already posted publicly in threads here. You've said many times in the threads in Singles that you find many of the women here beautiful and had a prayer in one of the other threads that God would let you have at least one to yourself. You've also written many other posts in which you have expressed your hope to find someone here. Which is fine, but even as a joke, "falling in lust" is not the best choice of words to use here.

As for telling me not to be one of the Christians who are "getting splinters in their brains"... No need to worry. I don't ride a broom, but rather, a small sedan.

I have often received messages from young women on this site in which they've told me they are uncomfortable with some of the comments older men make here, even as a "joke". The men say exactly what you are saying: "It was a joke! She was in on it too!" But the thing is, the women actually don't like it at all but don't want to be disrespectful in any way so they don't say anything.

I will say that yes, I acted alone in speaking out against your "joke" regarding "falling in lust." No one asked me but it's something I felt the need to do, and I don't regret it at all. In addition, I know the context of the post as well. I know the person who originally started this thread as a personal friend and have been following it since its inception. I also re-read about 4 pages of previous posting before I made my own posts.

I'm not saying anything against you, and I do wish you the best. But I'm also taking, and sticking with, the stand that "falling in lust" in reference to someone, especially a woman less than half your age, is not an appropriate joke to make. I simply see it as common sense, but I do realize we seem to have a difference of opinion.

And so I shall simply agree to disagree and move on.

My intention was not to kill the thread, and it's had a very long run. The original poster hasn't revisited it in quite a while.

But yes, when I see something I don't feel comfortable with, I tend to say something, even it if runs the risk of "breaking" the thread.

I understand, Dan.

But if a man who could be my Dad would have written a post saying, "I think I'm falling in... lust..." in response to one of my posts, I would have felt much, much more awkward.

And if he said he was joking? I would have felt like he was saying I was just a joke, and could be spoken to in any way he wanted to speak to me, even if I was totally uncomfortable with it.

I can't be sorry for disagreeing with that.

Now, I was just fixin to rep you, seoulsearch, but that dang system said I have to spread som rep around before giving it to you:(...anyways, what you wrote on the matter young women not saying anything because we dont wanna be disrespectful, and the fact that we're met with the old "hey, it was just a joke" if we dont find what they are saying amusing or whatnot, was so good reading. I've gotten comments on here making me wanna close my account instantly, and I once did, in fact...and you cant stand up against those comments either, if so, you're grumpy, angry or even worse...heck, that man running for office even found it fitting saying that sorta thing out loud on tv...Gracious...
