Why are you seeking word from many when you are required to seek and walk in Holy Spirit guidance?
I have seen many people young and old receive from the Lord the empowering of the Holy Spirit recorded in Acts chapter 1:8 and in Acts 2;, 10 , 19
1cor chapter 12 through 14 are unit Chapter and are contextual to the gifts operating in a church setting as The Holy Spirit gives.
why prevents one from speaking in Tongues? I will tell you. it is the focus are speaking in tongues. we did not receive the empowering of the holy Spirit to speak in tongues. CS1 what do you mean your a Pentecostal pastor. The reason for the empowering of the Holy Spirit is to be a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit as Jesus said in John 14 and 15 chapter He will lead you guide you into all truth, he will not speak of himself but of Jesus. He will be with you and In you and will come upon you.
That all being said The Holy Spirit will not force Himself on you nor cause you to react in away that you are not wanting to or ready for. Each experience is personal and wonderful. Yet many well intentioned people are in error or wrong in their unlearned approach to the baptism of the Holy Spirit also known as The empowering of the Holy Spirit.
The over emphasis of laying on of hands and speaking in tongues and seeing other reacting to the power of the Holy Spirit or the lack thereof has hurt many to receive the genuine. 1cor chapter 12&14 speak about this.
How do i receive?
Ask Jesus to empower you with the Holy Spirit to be his witness. don't seek speaking in tongues but know the holy Spirit give you the ability but you must speak . He will not force you to do so. You will not lose self-control. And you will not do anything thing that you are not open to. it is by faith receive any then from God. in this case also.
Go into your room or a private place. read John chapter 1:33 and Acts 1:8
read 1cor chapter 12 through 14.
Then pray as The Lord To Empower you with the Holy Spirit to be a witness of him. The only requirement is that you have repented and received Jesus as Lord and Savior. Pray lift up your hands and head ask Jesus to fill you empower and baptize you with HIs Baptism then by faith receive. be open to what the Lord will do.
That is it.

The Lord would never instruct, you must speak in tongues or you are not saved.

Exactly and I think that dream I had was a warning from God about this very thing. Besides that nowhere in scripture does it say that speaking in tongues is evidence of salvation

I am vaguely aware of Copeland. Word is that he is a charlatan. I donated a sum of money to his organization many years ago. Something about feeding starving kids in Africa. Probably went into his pocket, filled his gas tank of his Cadilac.
The problem was that church that Blain attended was that those in charge thought that they themselves could bestow the gift of tongues. Of course, this was not biblical. It is the Holy Spirit that does the gift giving, not an individual or organization.
Not evidence at all. It is just a gift that can either be used appropriately or abused.
Yes I agree he is not just first in my life I am in love with him madly in love with him I adore him he is borderline an obsession to me, and I know you feel the same way as well
