The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise are futile 1Cor3:20

He also promises to give wisdom freely to all who seek it from him and ask …

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭

So we shouldn’t be lacking it and it shouldn’t be futile when it comes from him the struggle is accepting it when it comes

They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles UNTIL the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. Luke21:24

I guess that must take some theologising!

At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. Luke10:21

Mmhm ……Let’s try more than one scriptire and see what he’s telling isreal and if it relates to any prophecy lol

“And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest at any time they should see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And should understand with their heart, And should be converted, and I should heal them.

But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:14-17‬ ‭

Who’s Jesus speaking to ?

“And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:70‬ ‭KJV‬‬

bexause Israel waxed fat and rebelled continuously god made them blind and deaf to his word but he chose a remnant in order to spread his gospel to all humanity Israelis and gentiles alike.

again without accepting Christ there is no wisdom from God

“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

israel can’t be saved like gentiles can’t be unless they accept the gospel .

What's the point in trying scripture? You will insist yours be taken literally whilst mine can be overturned with your theologising.

I am woman by the way... the "He" is God who is here amongst us... in the world without end.

Yes indeed the coffee is not doing the trick the way it used to. :D

Yes that is true brother is for both, no worries, no apology needed. :)

Just so you know "what aboutism" is a form of deflecting when a person cannot produce a a counterpoint to the original point.

I’m alright with letting it go .

Yes .. I was a person who could see the pieces of the futurist camp were not fitting first by the very words of Jesus and the time stamps and someone here on CC helped see the flaws of my adopted position.

I have learned recently the people who have that open mind and will converse sensibly on the topic ( not mock and ridicule ) are the ones I want to engage, to easy to stoop down to that lower level otherwise.

I have wasted so much time on fruitless conversations ... so now I just move on. No point.

That is just me, however, I appreciate your rebuttals so you can carry on ;) cause I do learn from you and you are retired... Bonus!!

“I have learned recently the people who have that open mind and will converse sensibly on the topic ( not mock and ridicule ) are the ones I want to engage, “

yes maam , also those are the people who begin to see that the prices don’t fit then the revelations in the epistles start to click . We can’t learn anything new if we aren’t willing to engage in the right spirit or if we think we can’t learn from his word

“by the very words of Jesus and the time stamps”

yes this parable is where I began realizing who the husbandmen were and then the prophets really opened up to witness it well and clear in really a resounding way

Hear another parable:

There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, ( God ) and let it out to husbandmen, ( isreal ) and went into a far country: and when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. ( early prophets calling then to repentance )

And the husbandmen ( israel particularly Jerusalem ) took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. ( latter messianic prophets )

But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. ( the promised messiah Jesus our Lord ) But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. When the Lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, The same is become the head of the corner: This is the Lord's doing, And it is marvellous in our eyes?

Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:33-38, 40-43‬ ‭

When you have read the ot relatively thoroughly and then when you start seeing these types of things it just becomes undeniable

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:37-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

just so repetetive and really there shouldn’t be confusion

“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:20-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: ( Jesus was rejected and crucified for the sins of the people )

and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”( Nero and Rome destroyed Jerusalem and left the temple desolate which means thier entire covenant cannot be observed ot required a temple worship and animal sacrifice after the siege of jeruswlem fukfilling Jesus prophecy regarding the destruction of jeruswlem and its temple ) after 70 ad and the Jews were scattered into all nations )
‭‭Daniel‬ ‭9:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what’s missing is any nt prophecy for a rebuild ofnthe ri worm and it’s temple or another third return to the land after the Babylonian exile and gathering again from Babylon back to Israel before Romes attack.

Of course when we start listening tonjesus we realize the kingdom of God isn’t on tbis earth but he’s got a glorious one prepared for us all

you have always been and are now appreciated and loved in Christ !! Zz

Never heard of aboutism, but I wouldnt relate 70 AD to Luke21:24

That’s the issue look at the contemporary verses of the same sermons get more information

“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:20-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

matthews account of the same sermon ( ch24:1-2, Luke 21:5-6) gives different details to make a more complete picture Like this detail matters which she pointed out to you .

“Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:34‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The key to this particular sermon is to realize Jesus is answering two questions 1 “ what are the signs that Jerusalem and the tenoke are about to be destroyed and left desolate ? And 2 what are the signs at the end of the world when you promised to return ?

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying,1 Tell us, when shall these things be?

and 2 what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

they want to know when the temple and city is going to be destroyed and then they want a sign for his coming at the end of the world …….. the chapter is not ordered chronologically you can see immediate fires and distant future throughout it back and forth the two answers one about Jerusalems destruction and that generation and also the sign of his return at the end of the world to gather his people and set the wrath of god ablaze upon the rest of creation.

Mark 13 is another third account of you are interested it’s most likely peters perspective written by mark given the content and personal perspectives of Peter in the book rather than trying to make everything about single verses take in all the context and account you can of each subject like the gospels are designed that way four accounts and witnesses of the same sermons and happenings four accounts of Jesus death and resurrections his miracles and teachings ect the more we hear the more information can shape belief
