I'd rather not get into Genesis 1.
IN THE BEGINNING could mean the start of the earth.

I'm sorry Lovette that I don't understand your point very well since I just got here.
I understand FLESH to mean the physical body of a human being.

If you'd answer my question first, it would clear up some of your posts.

What does the following mean to you?
How do YOU understand the WORD OF GOD becoming flesh?

John 1:1 and John 1:14

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

You don't understand because you'd "rather not get into Genesis 1". I've already answered in various ways - in the beginning was the Word, but in the beginning was NOT the flesh. The question is, do you understand that the Word did NOT become flesh until He did, at God's appointed time, in God's appointed place?

In case you still don't get it, in the beginning God said, "let there be light", that light is the Word. I remember an article, that grammatically, Gen. 1:1 is actually a summary of the entire Creation week, it's not like God has finished creating the entire universe in the very beginning on Day 1, then embellished it which this and that from Day 2 to Day 6, that makes no sense. It should be better understood as, WHEN in the begnning God created the heavens and the earth; and when you read it in that way, God's first action was speaking light into darkness.

It's not really too good of a start to tell persons that they don't understand.
Genesis 1 could be understood in different ways.
Do we know when THE BEGINNING was?
If you want to get into that,,,I'm good with it,
but it doesn't seem to be what we're discussing here.

So here's the question:
Yes. JESUS became flesh when He was born.

WHAT was He before He became flesh?

Was He IN God in some way we may not understand?

Was He flesh in some way?
Did He appear in OT times or not?

If the Trinity is made up of THREE PERSONS

Was he a Person before being born as Jesus of Nazareth?

When IS the beginning?
Did God not do anything BEFORE He spoke let there be light?
Is Genesis 1 speaking about the universe or only the earth which He created for mankind?

And what do you mean by CREATION WEEK?
Then you say that God has not finished creating.
Sounds like a conflict.

You really want to discuss Genesis 1??

When IS the beginning?
The biblical begining is creatioin:
In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands. Heb1:10

Before that, I have been informed it was Ex nihilo, something I know nothing of

@James456

I just realized that if I put the cursor on the blue,,,the verse comes up!

So how did you do the blue thngy??

James
POST THE SCRIPTURE!!

I have no idea what Exodus 24:9-11 states !!
Dont you have bible gateway?

Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up 10 and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli, as bright blue as the sky. 11 But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.

The biblical begining is creatioin:

and the heavens are the work of your hands. Heb1:10

Before that, I have been informed it was Ex nihilo, something I know nothing of
Ex nihlo means nothing existed.

Problem is that we don't know what NOTHING is.

If you think of just white...that is SOMETHING.

So God laid the foundations OF THE EARTH.

So the beginning is describing the creation of the earth?

Then what are the Heavens??

There are differing views on this ...

I use biblegateway.

But YOU should be providing the verses...I shouldn't have to go looking for it.

It seems as though you have the bible in your head !
I'm jealous.

Then we have conflicting scripture !
And the bible cannot have conflict or we cannot trust it.

John 1:18
18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and[a] is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

( i used biblegateway, but I also copied and pasted it so you could see it.
Don't know how to do that blue thingy you use).

Forgive me for being cynical, but "love" is THE most abused word in English language, the homosexual slogans "love is love", "love wins", "right to love", have permanently ruined it.

In truth from God's Love, true love from God is not ruined. Only by any person's view from troubles, that others have done to others and have gone through. I have had my own share of troubles. Should I blame the others that caused it, that laughed at me over my continued belief to God no matter what? What about Colobine high School. Evil is present everywhere, always trying to win over others and make them angered over things they do without any care. That is bad, And one day it will alll fall into place. It will be done, the tares will be separated from the wheat.
Evil, the tares, want perplexity, misunderstanding and confusion, that is the nature of Evil's game
So stand in trust to God Father and Son as Won for you alone, and stay out of places you know not to go. as I think you already know. thank you. I know you have had your share too. Trusting for a hedge of thorns protecting you around you. and for you to learn from any and all troubles ever happened and could happen to you.

The only definition I know of what true love is is:
1 Cor 13:4-7

Now see the entire Chapter

1 Cor 13:1-3 is man's trying and sincerely can't do it. Yet can try and does appear good, yet even though man can play God and still not be God is lost and has produced many definitions of love, which is not real love, as God's love is best in the next three verses of 1 Cor 13

Then, we, I, you see God's Love beyond measure 1 Cor 13:4-7. Which no one can do of first born flesh and blood nature. In order to be able to do that true love, one has to have, from God, been imputed those three verses of true love and mercy put in them.
Then one works this out through them, in continual trust to God, not self or anyone else anymore 1 John 2:27. Born again from God through risen Son, to be able to do the same as Son did, gong to that cross willingly to save each person in his risen life for us all.

Yet that takes choice between God and each person personally first. then the new life of love for all begins, and one learns new from mistakes made, God never leaving them for each to see and believe willingly as well
Grow new in God's love and mercy to see new daily and continue being willing to h\ear God not self and others to lead you ever. only Father in Spirit and Truth John 4:23-24

Then we see 1 Cor 13:8-12
The gifts vanish, leave go away, no more use fro them once start growing up unto God's maturity Hebrews 5:12- 6:3 God is willing to reveal this to anyone tha tis sincere to know God without wanting it to spend on their own pleasures

Then we see 1 Cor 13:13 Love, God's Love of 1 Cor 13:4-7 lasts forever. Wow, woe is me as in Isaiah 6:1-7 Eph 1:6,7, and trust to father to get nee where God desires for me to be Eph 1:13 to see Chapter 2 of Ephesians onto Chapter 3 the mystery revealed in God's true love for us all, wow is me again
The gifts that vanish

Before that he was the light of the world, as in, "let there be light", in Gen. 1:3. In Gen. 1:1-3 you have all three persons.

You really want to discuss Genesis 1??

You tell me whether God has finished or not, when He rested on the seventh day. If you are really obsessed with the definition of "beginning", then it's necessary to go to the beginning, I don't see what your angle is.

Before He spoke "let there be light", there was darkness and void, God's first action is "let there be light". Maybe He created the ocean first, since the Holy Spirit was hovering above the waters, but that's just speculation.

So God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
Earth was formless and void. Genesis 1:2
The spirit of God was moving over the waters. Genesis 1:2
Then God said: Let there be light. Genesis 1:3

How much time passed between Genesis 1:2
and
Genesis 1:3

Before that he was the light of the world, as in, "let there be light", in Gen. 1:3. In Gen. 1:1-3 you have all three persons.
Jesus was the light of the world BEFORE He became man.

Is there a verse for this belief?

And you're the one who misunderstood it. You should've heard of the saying, "God wants your availability, not your ability." You still reject 1 Cor. 15:40 by speculating that we'll "elevate to heaven", even though bible prophecy states the opposite, that "this same Jesus" will descend FROM heaven to us, not us ascending to Him.

Well, I do not understand what you think I misunderstood.
God wants everyone to be saved (1Tim. 2:3-4) and gives that ability.
Speculate? You appear to be ignorant of 1Thes. 4:17, "We who are still alive will be caught up with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air." IOW, both-and logic trumps the opposite.
We should neither conflate God the Son and God the Spirit nor divorce them.
Love may be abused by some, but let us use it more and more (Eph. 3:16-19).
I agree that any appearance of God in the OT was a theophany, because Jesus was not incarnate until born of Mary.
However, calling such appearance a Christophany prompts me to call it a Pneumophany.

In truth from God's Love, true love from God is not ruined. Only by any person's view from troubles, that others have done to others and have gone through. I have had my own share of troubles. I trust God, I just don't trust the language, which is constantly being corrupted. That's the greatest evil I fear, Newspeak. Of course God's love is not ruined, all that I'm lamenting is that the word "love" is ruined. I prefer other words such as "adore", "cherish" or "hold dear".
