The word ALL isn’t in Mark 16:17. Also mark 16:17 says “these signs will follow believers” not “these signs will define believers”. If tongues or any signs defined our salvation, then that would mean that our assurances rests on our experience. But scripture says our assurance rests on Christ (John 19:30, Eph 2:8-9). He said “it is finished” not “it is almost finished, now go get baptized to complete it”

As far as what happened in the conversions. There are 10 that I know of in Acts. Only 3 of those involved tongues. What about the other 7?

How many times does it have to say the same thing?

How many times do you have to be told?

LOL, yep we are born of flesh, if not we would not be able to be REBORN.

Did you know that is when we get our sins?

So how do you think we get rid of them?

Be great if you could use scripture that is very clear, like Acts 2:38 and 22:16

It's has nothing to do with my way, I'm not telling you what you have to do to be reborn.

I'M SHOWING YOU IN HIS WORD.

Being baptized into the name of Jesus means first learning who and what Jesus is!

You need to start thinking in the way that they thought!
They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
1 Corinthians 10:2

Not for all time? it may be you and where your looking?

No, after we receive the Holy Ghost JESUS gives us differenct gifts thought it.

What is strange is the only ones debating it are the ones that have never received it.

Can't be ME!!!

What do you think of Paul in Acts 19? 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

Since you have believed, meaning there are people like you who beleive but have not received it?

Then he asks how were you bapitzed?

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Meaning how we are baptized comes into play.

Have you been obident and been baptized in JESUS name?

It all matters.
I received the Holy Spirit when I believed the gospel. (Ephesians 1:13-14) These disciples of John in Acts 19:2 apparently did not believe, based on their answer to Paul, “we have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” This demonstrates they have not yet believed in Jesus Christ unto salvation. Paul further asked, "into what then were you baptized? They said, “into John’s baptism.” Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”

When they heard this, they were afterwards baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. There would have been no need to re-baptize them if they had already believed on Christ Jesus unto salvation. These disciples of John needed further instructions to become believers in Christ Jesus then afterwards, they received the Holy Spirit after Paul laid hands on them (which is an exception and not the rule in every case of conversion).

LAUGHING OUT LOUD, eveytime someone is filled it's AN EXCPTION to the rule.

Sad and laughing at the same time.

So tell me why did JESUS tell HIS disciples to wait if they received the Holy Ghost when they belived?

Why in Acts 8 did they have to send of Peter and John?

Why in Acts 10 din't they receive it before they called for Peter?

Why in Acts 19 did Paul even ASK them???

Sorry you don't get the Holy Ghost by reading Eph.

JESUS is the one who FILLS YOU HELLO!!!

HOW ABOUT WE END THIS, show me in HIS word this is how we are reborn,

"believed on Christ Jesus unto salvation"

DON'T GIVE ME 20 VERSES, SHOW ME BELIEVE AND YOU ARE SAVED.

How many times do you have to be told?
To be told what, that the word ALL is in Mark 16:17? I guess one could tell me a thousand times and it still would not be in there. Let’s look at the verse again:

“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭ESV‬‬
The word ALL is still not in there.

I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins. I was baptized. Ive never spoke in tongues. Now you are saying I’m not saved because I don’t have the gift of tongues. So who is at fault for me not speaking tongues? I cannot do it on my own. So are you saying that God loves you more than me or did I not hold my face right when I came out the water?
I’m ok with not having that gift because I know I have a wayyyyyy bigger gift called salvation.

You would also think that if only tongues defines a truly saved person, then that person would also have the gift to heal. Would this not equate to way less sicknesses and death in the church full of tongue speaking healers vs lets say a Baptist church for example? Google that because yes some people(not me) have nothing better to do than study which denominations are healthier.

How many times do you have to be told?

LOL Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing.

Hebrews 10:29
How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

We are sanctified by the blood of Christ. Nothing we do can get rid of our sins. It is Christ who atones, it is God who throws our sins as far as the east is from the west.

You really need to stop insulting the Spirit of grace who dealt with your sins and stop claiming you can do something about them. If it were true, we would not need a Saviour.

I also don't see the word "ALL" I also don't see the word "SOME" or "FEW".

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

BUT I do see the words THEM THAT BELIEVE! Meaning "ALL" that belive or do you think the word "THEM" could mean some or a few?

I have no idea why you have not been filled.

In Acts 2:4, there hearts were right, they obeyed and waited.
Acts 8, 10 and 19 were all willing seakers they all obeyed and was baptrized in JESUS name.

GOD knew there hearts.

We both know you were baptized in JESUS titles not in HIS name, mabey start there.

Since no one was ever baptized that way!!

Let me tell you a true story, we went to a baptist church in Georga to pick up some pews. My pastor asked what was going on there as they were building a new church.

The guy said, we about 10 of us was seeking more of the lord, AND GOD FILLED THEM WITH THE HOLY GHOST and they knew because they were speaking in tougues.

They with joy went to the pastor who KICKED THEM OUT OF THE CHURCH, so they were builing a new one and called them selves baptistacostas.

Can you tell me why GOD filled them? Why then?

GOD knew there heart and filled them, they were seeking more.

What else do we also learn and know? GOD IS NOT ALLOWED IN SOME CHURCH'S.

I removed JESUS name and replace it with GOD so you would't get angry and me. Tamaoto tomaoto.

YOU!!

"Nothing we do can get rid of our sins"

JESUS,

Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Acts 22:16
King James Version
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

WHOS TELLING THE TRUTH????

Someone is lying.

.....

@Genez - We will get rid of our sins by getting our resurrection body.
If we don't there will be no resurrection.

Are you Yogi Berra?

Or, are you saying there will be no resurrection until we get rid of our sins?

........

I think too many feelings were being hurt by the red ❌. 😂

Well I hope that's not the case as it is unChristian to seek safety anywhere except in Christ. We see what happens when people seek peace in environmental means.

1 Thessalonians 5:3
For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

😂 I’ve been filled with the Holy Spirit brother. They will be known by their fruits not by miraculous signs and gifts. As I said before we will not agree on much since we don’t agree on the Trinity. If you can’t see the actual nature of God in scripture then i don’t reckon I will agree with many of your other interpretations.
I honestly don't know. The emoji tab has glitched before.
This is what it looks like on my end on iPhone.

Considering the significance of the different baptisms, John's baptism being understood as done by water and explicitly explained as one of repentance (of sins), the baptism into Jesus' Name strikes me as implicitly synonymous with one of a baptism into faith (in His Name). And if we have faith in the Name of Jesus, then a faith in His impact on the remission of our sins should already be inherent in that faith so that a repentance would also not only be implied, but inherent in the receiving of that baptism into (the) faith. If so, then the baptism in water would seem rather redundant and at the most only a public display of that faith.
