Do you not see that Scripture distinguishes between being filled with the Spirit, and baptized with the Spirit?
SLIPSEY:
I think You are not focusing on quite correctly. You cannot mix Water and Oil.
You also can not water baptism, with spiritual baptism. Although many try to do just that.

I read Your question as an honest One. I understand baptism as two kinds. First, there is a physical baptism, which is done, usually, with water.
There are, however, a TRUE baptism which is accomplish by The Spirit Of God; and It is spiritual baptism. God The Elohim has chosen to use both in different ways, for different reasons. The Baptism which John was doing was a physical baptism with water.
That One occurred BEFORE Jesus Christ came into Isreal. Where did He come into to? That is very important!

The Baptism that is in place in This Age is, Spiritual Baptism only! Yet there be many who insist on saying that water baptism is needed to become saved!

What saves a person spiritually? Is It water or The Spirit Of God (The Elohim of Genesis 1:1 (Us) ?

I hope I have made This subject more clear to You. If not, Email Me and I will do My best to cover It better.

I haven't?

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

[This is the revelation of Jesus Christ [His unveiling of the divine mystery]. Amplified Version.
God gave IT TO HIM to disclose and make known TO HIS BONDSERVANTS, certain things WHICH MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS IN THEIR ENTIRETY.
Why then do people keep forcing what was written to His bond servants, to everyone? Yet They do.
Even the so-called knowledgeable teachers are doing just That!
This is, in My opinion; Because people like to hear false stories that sound good, rather than The Truth!
What think Thee ?

If the only way to get rid of our sins is being baptized in JESUS name.

Acts 2:38
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Since sin separates us from GOD, AND he does not hear sinners!!

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

How can you be saved without getting rid of it?

Are you implying someone can be reborn and never get rid of their sin?

If not how do you think we get rid of our sins?

John 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
yup says right there, Jesus did not baptize with water.

thank you for confirming what i said.

water baptism is not salvific nor necessary for salvation, but we should not neglect the sacraments Christ instituted for us: assembling together, taking His supper together, and baptizing with water those who have newly come to belief.

these were given to the church as commandments, beginning with the apostles. by the time Paul began preaching it was clear that there was an immersion of the Spirit, and that it occurred with belief, independent of water baptism - yet he still baptized with water, and taught the churches he founded to continue to do so.

i would just as strongly argue sabbath observence is not necessary ((nor is it even commanded of believers)), but never forbid it - - but water baptism was indeed commanded, not under the law except to priests in service, but to the church, Jew and Gentile alike.

i certainly wouldn't go around preaching against it: what i've been doing here is correcting this one pained man's missteps and trying to steer him toward the actual thread topic. i hope i haven't given anyone the impression i am against baptism, by pointing out that it is Christ alone that saves, not of works but of His grace.

if for no other reason, i believe we should be baptized for the same reason our example, Jesus, was: to fulfill all righteousness

I think what we have here is a misunderstanding. If you do not understand the concept of being “filled” vs being “indwelt or baptized “ by the Holy Spirit, then it will be a difficult discussion.

LOVE IT, just show me that in HIS word.

You do know your saying that NOTHING is required of us to be reborn so EVERYONE is Heaven bound right.

Then why did JESUS say the path to HELL is broad and wide and the path to Heaven is narrow???

Satan's best plan keep them out of the water!!

If they do go in the water keep JESUS name out of it.

So do you think EVERYONE is going to Heaven? If not why?
Hello!

The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt. (Exodus 12:13)

The passage in Exodus says only those with the blood on the doorpost were spared. Only those under the blood. All others were not spared. The criteria was the presence or absence of blood on the doorpost.

God Bless :)

Have you been reborn?

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see (SEE, SEE, SEE) the kingdom of God.

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of (((water))) and of the (((Spirit))), he cannot (((enter))) into the kingdom of God.

Trying to figure out why you CAN'T SEE?

JESUS says we must be born of WATER, meaning being baptized and filled with his spirit.

Which Acts 2:38-39 which was the first message that Peter who had the KEYS (not key) to Heaven preached says the same thing.

You really don't see the words JESUS MADE AND BAPTIZED???

John 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that (((((((Jesus made and baptized)))))) more disciples than John,
2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

which part of 1 Corinthians 13:8 says
"but not until Jesus returns"?
you must have a paraphrase Bible or something. not recommended at all..

or are you referring to 1 Corinthians 12:30?
Did someone just tell you that and you not look yourself?

Or do you just grab one scripture and make a statement blindly?

We need to use ALL of HIS word READ VERSE 10!!!!

1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

To CONFIRM he was speaking in tongues SO IT DIDN'T END, chapter 14

1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Have I asked you HAVE YOU received the Holy Ghost since you have BELIEVED?

Acts 19
King James Version
19 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

I'm glad you don't go around preaching against it and in the same conversation you say water baptism is not salvific nor necessary for salvation!!

SO WHY DO IT? Satan's plan keep them out of the water, and if they do go in keep JESUS name out of it.

Did you know we will be held responsible for EVERY word out of our mouth?

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

It's not a good idea telling fokes to go against HIS WORD.

If HIS word say this is how we get rid of our sins.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

AND YOU say "water baptism is not salvific nor necessary for salvation"

I have questions YOU NEED TO ANSWER!!!

1. Can a person enter Heaven with sin?

2. How can a person be reborn and not get rid of their sins?

3. How does a person get rid of their sins?

Of course we need the Holy Ghost also.

What does a person have to do TODAY to be reborn or saved?

Hello! I believe you can find the answer here:

Ephesians 1:3-14.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

God Bless You :)

No sorry I don't, I can see how he is Prasing JESUS for all he has done.

Ephesians 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

As we can see just before Ephesians 1:3 Paul is speaking to the church he started not the unsaved.

AND FOR sure doen't show me how we get reborn today.

Be great if you could show me.

How do we get HIS blood on our door post?

And explain how do those verse show us how a person TODAY to be reborn or saved?

Just reading them?

JESUS says we must be born of WATER, meaning being baptized and filled with his spirit.
2 Kings 6:17
And Elisha prayed, and said,
"LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see."
Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
