Some of these arguments are like playing “what if”. We’ve all done it. There’s usually some repressed anger behind it. If you see a person going on and on, pressing a certain point, then there’s some anger at God for something in their life.
God is not bound to give the Holy Spirit because of belief or actions. This is the flaw in your logic.Obedience is not required to receive the holy spirit.Belief is.
Paul believed the moment Jesus spoke to him and asked him why he was persecuting him.
Paul had no works and was not obedient before he received the holy spirit. He received the holy Ghost because he was chosen. Not because he was a great guy nor because he was doing what he supposed to because he wasn't.
"Repressed anger", "there's some anger at God for something in their life" ???Some of these arguments are like playing “what if”. We’ve all done it. There’s usually some repressed anger behind it. Please explain "95% of the posters discount the power of God to help you."In this whole thread, about 95% of the posters discount, the power of God to help you. I’m amazed there is absolutely no faith in God from these great expositors and great discussers and arguers.
smhThe disobedient do not repent hence the label "disobedient".
Do you make this stuff up. or is this what you were taught. if you were taught this, from who?Jesus was obedient because of what He did, not what He believed. He and the Father are one.
Its a call to repent and believeThe disobedient are lost because of their unrepentance.
Luke 13:3-5
King James Version
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
The above verses are not calls for belief but a call for action.
For Salvation: The only burden on a person is to call out to Jesus. Once you do, God does the rest. We can go on and on about obey, disobey, feel different, Law blah blah, faith, etc…Please explain "95% of the posters discount the power of God to help you."
God is not bound to give the Holy Spirit because of belief or actions. This is the flaw in your logic.
God can both give and take away the Holy Spirit, it is His will.
A person may be gifted the Holy Spirit or have it taken away without their knowledge.
Judges 16:20
Then she cried, “Samson, the Philistines are here!” When he awoke from his sleep, he said, “I will escape as I did before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the LORD had left him.
There is no other way to label this statement other than human conjecture.

Your comments are immature.I just got home from work I'm dirty and I stink but I bet the holy spirit inside of me doesn't care if I got dirty today.
A lot of Pharisees on this board would condemn me if I don't wash my hands before I eat though.
Tell that to the blind man at the Pool of Siloam. He washed, he obeyed, he was healed. Please Explain your believe that God does not have the power to save without a common man performing an ancient ritual of washing In water.
Tell that to the blind man at the Pool of Siloam. He washed, he obeyed, he was healed.
If God commands it, do it.
Knock and the door will be opened.
But you insist on standing their repeating to yourself, "God can open the door without human hands"
How sad to stand at the door, hands folded with a stiff neck refusing to knock because of your pride.
This is your logic. This is the ditch that you can not see over.
Your comments are immature.
there is only two things essential for NT birth
1. The cross
2. Our faith in the cross.
nothing else is required.
Taking communion is commanded also. Yet that has nothign to do with whether a person is saved or not
Yes, they are required if you want to save yourself. All of God’s commandments are required for salvation.
No he gives a command as with any law. To prove our guilt and charge us when we are guilty. Without a law. There is no proof of Guilt.God does not give a “commandment” with the attitude that it doesn’t matter whether or not you obey it. If you tell your children to do something and they don’t do it, do you just not care? It’s ok with you for your children to ignore what you say? Really??
But keeping them will not save you, they will not keep you saved, and you will nto lose salvation if you forget and screw up a command.By the way, cominnion was the reason the disciples assembled each first day of the week—to remember His death and resurrection. Acts 20:7. And we still believe it is necessary and observe it. All of God’s commands are important and necessary.
1 Cor. 7:19–what matters is keeping the commandments of God.
John 14:15–If you love me keep my commandments.
John 15:14–You are my FRIENDS if you do what I say.
1 John 5:3–This is the love of God that we keep His commandments.
1 John 2:3–We KNOW HIM if we KEEP his commandments.
1 John 2:4–If you claim to know God, but don’t keep His commandments, you are a liar and the truth is not in you.”
So have you ever sinned?Keeping the commandments and having faith in Jesus christ (Reveltation 14:12)
yep^^^”Keeping God’s commandments and…
“All of God’s commandments are required for salvation.”
Man, I have heard it all now. If this was true then the Pharisees, Saducees, and all the Jewish leaders who crucified Jesus would be saved. So bad
