I am not quite sure about my faith yet but I am trying. While reading about bible and Jesus I asked myself, how do I even pray? I am not sure if I have the right state of mind for that, or if there is a right state of mind. How do you do it? How do you feel before and during the pray? I really want to try.
Pray for your needs and the needs of other people spiritually and physically.
You do not need an instruction manual.
Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Jas 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
For that is the only thing we can pray for because God only supplies us with our needs not our wants.
1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Paul said that people that preach godliness is gain our wants withdraw yourselves from them having food and clothing our needs be content.
For the love of money is the root of all evil for it neglects the poor and the needy, and love is the fulfilling of the law.
Many people go by their wants and think it is coming from God but it is coming from the flesh.
Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.
Pro 30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
Pro 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
Pro 30:13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
Pro 30:14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
It is hard for some people to not venture that especially in America with money flowing like a raging river and many things to enjoy.
And I want to enjoy money and the things to enjoy with it but by doing so I am neglecting people who need their needs met because I am spending it on my wants instead of them which is not love.
The last generation will heap money to themselves and not care about the poor and needy because technology causes them to make more money because they can reach out to a wider audience and more money flowing.
And many people who claim Christianity are jumping on board.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.
Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Jesus gave this example to pray which covers our needs spiritually and physically and for other people including our enemies.
So it is not hard to pray but easy.
