Option 3...our salvation gives us access to the power to obey.
Everyone is under obligation to obey God by virtue of creation. Salvation doesn't require anything of us. It empowers us to perform what is pleasing to God.
Your underlying premise is wrong. It reflects a misunderstanding of both grace and the law.
Indeed. Generally speaking, the only way to gain a character trait is through faith that we ought to practice it apart from being required to have first practiced it a certain amount as through it could be earned as a wage, but becoming someone who has a character trait through faith means becoming someone who practices that trait, so it is contradictory to become someone who has a character trait apart from becoming someone who practices it.
For example, the only way to become courageous is through faith that we ought to practice courageousness apart from being required to have first done a certain amount of courageous actions as through it could be earned as a wage, but becoming courageous is not apart from becoming someone who practices courageousness.
The same is true of righteousness. God's law is His instructions for how to practice righteousness, not for how to become righteous as the result. For example, God's law reveals that it is righteous to help the poor, but no amount of helping the poor will ever cause someone to become righteous as the result because the only way to become righteous is through faith. So when God declares us to be righteous through faith He is also declaring us to be someone who practices righteousness through faith in obedience to His law in accordance with following Christ's example. This is why the faith by which we are declared righteous apart from being required to have first done a certain amount of obedience to God's law does not abolish our need to practice righteousness in obedience to it, but rather our faith upholds it (Romans 3:27-31). Thinking that we are required to have first had a certain amount of obedience to God's law is completely missing the point of why we should obey it.
Only those who do the will of the Father will enter the Kingdom of Heaven while Jesus said that he would tell those who are workers of lawlessness to depart from him because never knew them and this fact means that obeying God's law is a requirement in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Our salvation is from sin and sin is the transgression of God's law, so living in obedience to it is intrinsically part of the concept of being saved from not living in obedience to it, which again means that our salvation requires our obedience to it. For example, honoring our parents is intrinsically part of the concept of being saved from not honoring our parents, which means that it requires us to honor our parents. In Psalms 119:29-30, he wanted to put fans ways far from him, for God to be gracious to him by teaching him to obey His law, and he chose the way of faithfulness by setting it before him, so this has always been the one and only way of salvation by grace through faith, which again requires us to choose to obey God's law.
Those who are saved will do the Father's will and will also obey. Salvation is Alpha and Omega...from its inception throughout eternity. He Who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
You backload works into salvation by trying to maintain your salvation. It is no more of grace.
It’s all about our Father’s GRACE. It truly is ALL-SUFFICIENT.
His grace is only applicable to those that are abiding IN Christ which is being led by the Spirit based on what God has already said in His Word.
Sadly, the OSAS peoples are greasy grace changers who have turned the Grace God's Word teaches into a carnal man made form of grace the comes from the blind mind of mankind led by demonic scripture twisting.

Paul told the Romans to whom He was writing the those who malign the Grace of God like you do ... "their condemnation is just."
Salvation is permanent because eternal life is a gift not a reward and the gifts of are irrevocable.
Your OSAS position is arrived at by being a cherry picker.
OSAS peoples reject the whole counsel of God and only believe a handful of happy verses... oh and they consider Jesus to be a liar!
Jesus taught us in John 15 that those who to not abide IN HIM and bare fruit, are cut off and thrown in to the fire!

This is wht so many of the OSAS peoples live in sin!... bringing reproach upon the Body of Christ!
Abiding is not salvation.
Justification is salvation.

The entire Bible from start to finish is about the plan to securely redeem those who believe in the work of Christ Jesus, accepting His gift, being our propitiation for all our sin, God has completely defeated satan, did you not get the memo?
Is there anyone abiding in Christ who does not also have salvation or vice versa?
We can't believe in the work of Christ Jesus and accept his gift while not abiding in him.
I have not read anywhere in scripture where a person makes a promise to abide in order to receive or keep the gift of salvation.
Perhaps you have one?
One can get born again and then fall away later and not bare fruit anymore.
Jesus did not lie about this as the OSAS peoples apparently believe.

You build a false premise then attack people over a strawman argument that you built, one that has nothing to do at all with what others are actually saying. You just like to argue I guess. You seem to believe and promote that we obey God to keep our salvation. We say we obey BECAUSE of our salvation. Yet you build this stupid argument that we believe we are saved and free to sin all we want now. Nobody is saying that but in your imagination. So you keep working on maintaining your " for rent" salvation. Good luck.
Your boy Charles Stanley taught that even if one lives in sin... they are still saved!
This guy is one of the leading OSAS teachers of all time as all the OSAS people follow his teachings!
And, something you and all your OSAS cohorts fail to realize is... many who get saved are try to learn and grow in their faith and they here someone such as your boy gnarly Charlie say on his TV show that "Christians can never ever never lose their salvation no matter what"
And so they are under the impression that it doesn't matter if they sin or not.... and so they keep living in sin because they have been deceived by the fake gospel of the OSAS peoples.
People claiming to be Christians all over the world are freely living in sin because of the false OSAS message... check it out, you got yer "gay christians", you got yer "drunk christians", you got yer "weed smoking christians", you got yer "lying christians" etc, etc.
One thing they all have in common is they are all big fans of the OSAS peoples false gospel that leads them to believe they can live in sin if they want to because after all.... the OSAS peoples told them it's not possible to lose their salvation.
