I mean this in full respect, as I am not a cessasionist and I believe the Holy Spirit works today!
I was just wondering if by Pharisees you mean Christians who you deem as potentially judgmental but ridged in belief. Or if you mean Christians who stack on interpretations outside of the Bible and hold them to the same authority as scripture. If you read the Bible carefully, and consider the context, Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for holding their own personal doctrine and rituals on par with scripture, to the point of rejecting those who do not follow them faithfully(even though there was no precident to do so). Matthew 15:3
There were instances however of the Pharisees being overly ridged without taking the grand theme of scripture in hand. This also caused them to be rebuked, as they were following the law in number but not in heart. Think Jesus healing on the sabbath. But scripturally I do not believe that God ever condemned healing on the Sabboth, rather claiming it as a day of rest. I could be wrong here.
They were also rebuked for being hypocritical. Matthew 23:3
It is good to follow the law! Not as a way to earn salvation by self righteousness(which the Pharisees were condemned for). But as a way to show love towrds people and God
It is also great to show faithfulness to scripture, and to call out false prophets/doctrines and expose some beliefs built off of aspects of misused scripture.
Holding to the law itself with a gosple distinction, and interpreting scripture faithfully while rejecting ideas outside of scripture is not Pharisutical, but rather what I believe is the ideal posture regarding the law and scripture.
On the other hand, holding anything outside of scripture as the same authority as scripture, especially personal experience, would be counted as Pharisutical to my knowledge.
I have looked much into this as I have left the Hyper Charismatic movement and have weighed many things I was taught which were considered as authoritative as scripture. Examples being: The word of faith movement, the prosperity gosple, much of the deliverance ministry, the new apostolic reformation, and ideas based off of modern day prophesy and women roles in church.
