I have read my Bible, among my friends I'm known for how well I know my Bible. But why would anyone advise another to focus on the few parts when God is practically forced to pour out his wrath rather than the whole council of scripture. There we see that the smallest bit of repentance is enough to turn away God's wrath. We also see that very rarely (and never since Jesus came) has God tasked his people with enacting his wrath on others.
Of course one of the most important things about understanding scripture is keeping things in context. Which is why it's important to read the whole chapter and see that in Romans 12 just a few verses after we read that we're to hate what is evil (what not who) and cling to the good we also read to bless those who persecute us and pray for their blessing. And we're instructed to not pay back evil for evil, leave vengeance to God rather than taking it into our own hands, and to not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good. Be open minded and open hearted enough to ask yourself if you're following all the commands in that chapter or if you've just decided to fixate on the one that justifies the hate you cherish in your heart.
As for the 2 Chronicles passage, Jehoshaphat had just come back from a battle he was in because of his alliance with Ahab of Israel. God wasn't keen on that alliance and the prophet told Jehoshaphat as much, but
we don't see any consequences of God's wrath in that chapter and in the next chapter when enemies attacked and Jehoshaphat prayed... God miraculously took care of the enemies and they didn't have to lift a sword to fight. So other than another chance to glom on to the word wrath to justify holding hate and anger in your heart.. I can't see that this passage really demonstrates anything about God holding anger against people.
But if you hang around christian online forums we see plenty of people who are similar to you. People who think they are at least as holy if not holier than God and so can pass judgement and hold onto hate and other ungodly things without risk because they're so holy and in tune with God. But the rest of us can see the arrogance and pride under that veneer of spirituality because the Bible tells us:
When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these.
And it also tells us:
Just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.
21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’
And yes we're sorry for your loss and for all deaths that could be prevented, but it sounds like either slander or unhinged grief to say that just because your family members died under medical care that they were murdered by the medical establishment. Our system has many flaws, far too many medical errors, and bad treatments, but an accusation of murder requires proof of intent to kill and it is ludicrous to think that most medical professionals are guilty of such.
You sound like you are part of a medical establishment, otherwise:
A. You would not be so defensive about people who you nothing about other than my first hand eye witness testimony.
B. You would not be a busybody going about tattling, speaking things which they aught not. I Timothy 5:13...I Tim 3:3...without natural affection, false accusor, disposers of those that are good, deceiving and being deceived.
C. You proclaim a fake gospel by taking the Words of my Lord out of context in Matthew 7 to testify the opposite of what He warned.
D. You belittle the prophetic warning of 2 Chronicles 19:2 as if it was no big deal since the consequences were not recorded here. The next chapter does record consequences for Jehosaphat for his alliance with the son of Ahab and Jezebel.
" Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish."
E. It is very clear that Jesus does Not change His attributes from the time He smokes the cities of the well watered plains of Sodom to the most judgemental book, which you must be familiar with, Revelation. He tells His disciples to love their personal enemies, NOT the enemies of God. That's a common distinction, that Hindus who mock the Bible like Ghandi, twist.
"Do not I hate them, I LORD, that hate Thee? And am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with a perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies."
Under the Holy Spirit's inspiration David agreed with God.
Besides the example of Jesus, David was a prime example of someone who spared Saul's life yet hated God's enemies.
Let that sink in.
Do you know how many criminals were shown mercy, who's lives I spared while lawfully justified with using deadly force to defend myself. No you don't.
Nor are you worthy of that information.
F. You were not addressed in my initial post when I opened up to relate personal experiences. You are not worthy of such from my personal life.
My Mom's honorable name and life is in fact worthy of respect a son of God gives her.
The slander of some sassy woman who supports the enemies of God while impugning worthless opinions about her legacy will not be tolerated.
If her murdered body is to carry value, it will be to save lives of those who still have hope. Those are the people that we continue to love and will continue to protect!
