    Understanding God’s election

(Sorry for the delay in replying - the site didn't seem to be working yesterday.) I don't read either Studier's post, or the Apostle Paul, making the unbiblical claim that Paul was a Saviour.

Is it enough to just believe in Jesus?

Well, the jailer at Philippi asked a similar question, and the apostles replied: “So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."” (Ac 16:31 NKJV) "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31 NKJV) No detailed list...

Is it enough to just believe in Jesus?

Yet the apostles said to the Philippian jailer: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." Jesus said: “"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” (Joh 6:47 NKJV)

Is it enough to just believe in Jesus?

Not according to Jesus Himself. He said: “"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” (Joh 6:47 NKJV) Not: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life once he submits to baptism.” So you seem to be saying that these people had...

    WORD OF GOD

That is true. The Hebrew and Greek words used for "God" or "god" in the bible are used of men who represent God (judges, Israelite kings, etc.) and God's angels, as well as the true God. However, I was answering BonnieClaire's question: "Is the Word in John 1:1 a true god or a false god?" I...

    WORD OF GOD

I say that it refers to the true God, because of the context. If we look ahead to John 1:14, we read: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (Joh 1:14 NKJV) That verse wouldn't be true...

Is it enough to just believe in Jesus?

When we read about the name of Jesus, or the name of God in the bible, it means far more than the label by which they are known. It means their whole character and being. For example, we read in Acts: “"If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has...

We will be like the angels, not being neither female or male.

It's called "Online Bible", but it was invented before the Internet, so it doesn't mean it is a web-based program. I got it years ago as a disc. You can get it on the Internet, at: https://onlinebible.net/

We will be like the angels, not being neither female or male.

Thanks. I certainly couldn't. I have a bible program on my computer which allows me to search for all verses in Revelation that include the word "angel". There are 53, as I said, and not one of them refers to the angel as "she."

We will be like the angels, not being neither female or male.

Where in Revelation do you read of an angel referred to as "she" who goes flying around' telling all men to repent? The word "angel" appears 53 times in Revelation. The nearest I could find was: “Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach...

But Lazarus didn't go to Hades. It was the unnamed rich man who went there: “"There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. "But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, "desiring to be fed with...

Not sure why you say "also angels". The word translated "saints" in the New Testament is hagios. The word translated "angels" is aggelos, a different word.

    Understanding God’s election

Not according to Ephesians 2, where Paul writes to the Christians at Ephesus: “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of...

Because they make that choice themselves. If you ask why God chose some to be saved, we are not told, beyond what Paul writes in Romans 9: “Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens. You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His...

What woman who gave two shekels? I know about the woman who gave two mites: “Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans.” (Mr 12:42 NKJV) I understand that there were 384 mites needed to make one shekel.

    Understanding God’s election

Yes, but not necessarily a permanent choice. Like Saul/Paul, a person may become aware of Jesus long before they actually come to believe on Him. I would say that a person who remains (in bible terms) "dead in trespasses and sins" won't even think to make such an argument. If they really...

I don't think any of them do. I believe that God is good. The bible teaches that. I don't believe in double predestination. I believe that when a sinner is saved, it is a result of God choosing to save him or her: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us...

I have never heard of 9 Point Calvinism. Calvin had 5 points because he was answering 5 points made by Arminius. Personally, I feel that the acronym TULIP has great disadvantages, particularly the "L". "Limited Atonement" always gives the impression of fewness. I prefer the term...
