    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

I apologise for the multiple appearances of the same post from me. When I tried to post it, there seemed to be something wrong with the forum, but I thought it was my computer, so I tried again, and again, and again. Unfortunately, my posts don't seem to have the usual "Delete" button.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

I am sorry but you seem to have read far more into my post than was there. I never even mentioned God choosing to make this version to be His "official translation". What is more, I don't believe that God made any English translation His "official translation". Nor did I say that we are to...

    666 and Islam?

But I don't understand (sorry!). If the Arabic consonants for the word "Islam" show that Islam is the beast, and the same consonants are bin "Solomon", how does that not indicate that Solomon, in your idea of how these things work, is not the beast?

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Sorry, but what has that got to do with it? King James did NOT translate the bible that is known as the King James Version. He merely commissioned it in his position as titular head of the Church of England.

    questions

But Psalm 78:1-3 does not say that the whole bible is in the form of a parable. Thew verses state: “«A Contemplation of Asaph.» Give ear, O my people, to my law; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, Which we have...

How do you believe someone is of the elect

But we see Paul writing to Christians at Ephesus: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame...

    666 and Islam?

Sounds rather far-fetched to say that a Hebrew King's name in English letters has three consonants out of four that are the same as the three consonants in the English name of a religion, Islam, and that that, plus the fact that Solomon received 666 talents of gold per year, is somehow evidence...

How do you believe someone is of the elect

I don't agree that the multitude in heaven is still a few. Particular Redemption (sometimes called "Limited Atonement") says that Christ died for His sheep, as He said: “"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” (Joh 10:11 NKJV) He also said to some of His...

Holy Reverence and the 'man Upstairs'?

I think I would avoid it because it is so easily misunderstood, and especially because it is used by some oin a derogatory manner.

How do you believe someone is of the elect

Calvinists do not believe that Jesus died only for a few. They believe what is said in Revelation, about a multitude which no one can number! I would say, "Biblically~~The Lord Jesus Christ died for sinners. If you believe, you will be saved. Anyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ will...

How do you believe someone is of the elect

I agree that belief is needed for salvation. But being converted does not make somebody elect. We are told that Christians were chosen by God before the foundation of the world. (Elect and chosen mean the same thing.)

How do you believe someone is of the elect

If God doesn't know until a person loves Him, that isn't foreknowledge, is it?

How do you believe someone is of the elect

I am puzzled as to how a person can love God without believing in God.

How do you believe someone is of the elect

But whether you use "chosen" or "elect", it isn't unbiblical. Paul rote to the Ephesian Christians: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of...

How do you believe someone is of the elect

As far as I am aware, there is no way we can know whether somebody is of the elect before they believe on the Lord Jesus Christ - that is known to God alone.

Holy Reverence and the 'man Upstairs'?

I would agree that we cannot see the hearts of other people, and God can and does, and for this reason we should be careful in reaching conclusions based on what we are able to see or hear. However, calling God's dwelling-place "upstairs" implies that the speaker seems to be equating the...
