    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

Today’s church teaches discipling as if it’s an option. It’s not. It’s a command. The reason why so many converts are not becoming disciples, could it be due to either our message, our methods, or both?

I would not have an issue with it if defined this way.

Faith is never alone. Faith alone saves, but faith is not alone. She has two sisters named Hope and Love, sir.

Again, I’m not a calvinist, so fire away at Calvinism all you want. What I am opposed to is calling them Gnostics or gnostic leaning. I oppose that because it’s not true, imo. Now If you want to try to convince me, go ahead. But ECF is not going to convince me. Especially since I happen to...

    Yes. None were infallible.

Yes, John Calvin agreed with Augustine on soteriology. Yet you still have not demonstrated that Augustine was a gnostic...and you won’t because he wasn’t.

But they are also sola scriptures, which means the Bible always has the final say in what is true. They do not do that with Augustine.

that’s why we believe in sola scripture. The ECF had many errors. They said some good and they said some bad. Ok to read for historical info, but not sufficient to promote or reject a doctrine

    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

Correct. Using the ECF, either their view on a topic or there silence on a topic is extremely dangerous

    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

You’re argument is that Election was not taught before Augustine, ( which is incorrect btw) and depravity was not taught before Augustine...among the ECF, that is. I’m not sure OSAS was taught among ECF before Augustine either. So the basic argument you are presenting is inconsistent...

Im not accusing anyone, but just juxtaposing two views. One wrong one right.

    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

One should not help the poor to earn credits with God towards salvation. One should help the poor out of love for Christ and man. Once you believe, you’re saved. You dont have to add anything. But God saves us to serve. Ephesians 2:10 When Jesus healed Peter’s mother in law, she rose up and...

    Lordship salvation vs. "easy believism"

I think we are saved by grace through faith alone, but also that as believers, placing ourselves under the Lordship of Christ is the only rational course of action Jesus did not merely say to make believers. He also said “ make disciples”. If converts do not become disciples, we are not...

Did the ECF believe in eternal security? If you deny election on the basis of ECF, what about once saved always saved? Which ECF taught that Note. I believe in the security of the believer.

Jesus did die for all, but His death only saves those who believe. And it was done on purpose that way.
