    Saved by Water

That reply boggles my mind!.. @Rebel77 made a doctrinal statement that CANNOT be found in the bible, and yet you called it a simple fact. And you nearly scoffed at the suggestion that it should be supported by scripture before being trusted. My guess is that under any other circumstance...

    Saved by Water

Why do you associate permanent glorification with having our sins washed away as if BOTH must occur at the same moment AND be permanent? Love in Jesus, Kelby

    Saved by Water

Because if someone takes something away from me, I don't have it anymore. I hesitated to answer because how am I to answer someone who just disregards what is written and replaces it with whatever they want it to say? It doesn't say "the judgement of sin" it says the SIN. And it's not John...

    Saved by Water

I just quote out of the KJV. It's what I'm used to, and people are welcome to look up the references in their preferred versions. I'm glad you continue to refer to yourself as kingdom offspring as you most assuredly are. Even though I'm worried about offending the little ones, I'm not as...

    Saved by Water

John 1:29 KJV The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. (<--that means the sins would be gone) Acts 22:16 KJV And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the...

Which Jesus are you trusting ?

Maybe I didn't understand what you were saying. *shrugs* Still like your spunkiness. :) Fare well. Love in Jesus, Kelby

    Saved by Water

I was just giving examples where God required two aspects as necessary, not just one or the other. That concept seems to be a major stumblingblock to some people. Love in Jesus, Kelby

Which Jesus are you trusting ?

The bible describes all of that without using the word "Trinity". @Hann57 is just saying that If the bible doesn't need to apply a word 'trinity' then neither does he or she. I don't know of any biblical commandment along the lines of "Thou shalt say 'Trinity'". Do you? Love in Jesus, Kelby

    Jesus' Command in Matthew 28:19

@oyster67 What I was saying is that each piece accomplishes something specific, and accomplishing one piece does not negate the need for the other piece. Love in Jesus, Kelby

    Jesus' Command in Matthew 28:19

That's why I said I would have defended you against anyone falsely accusing you of HOLDING a doctrine you were only QUESTIONING. But I will try to keep those things further separated, per your suggestion. Love in Jesus, Kelby

    Jesus' Command in Matthew 28:19

I know you were not stating it as if it were your own belief. You were asking about it as if it were something I was meaning. But I don't understand what is meant by the phrase... whether from you or me. I would have defended you if anyone were to suggest YOU held the doctrine you thought I...

    Saved by Water

From the bible. Specifically these verses establishing baptism for the purpose of remission of sins. (no matter how much we don't like it): Mark 1:4 KJV John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Luke 3:3 KJV And he came into all the...

    Saved by Water

My apologies if capitalizing "both" and "and" comes across as shouting or heightened emotion. It's not. I just wanted to highlight the importance of two pieces that each need to be present in order for it to be accepted, rather than debating whether one piece is better than the other. i.e...

    Saved by Water

Not when you consider that a person would want to BOTH be a son AND be sin-free. One baptism (water) to make the person sin-free. One Baptism (spirit) for adoption into sonship. Born of Water and Born of the Spirit Love in Jesus, Kelby

    Jesus' Command in Matthew 28:19

So far I'm not getting hurt feelings nor think you are being inappropriate... but I don't grasp your meaning. What do you mean by "all prophecies must be fulfilled before anyone can be saved"? I THINK I understand but also think it important enough not to guess.. Thanks. Love in Jesus, Kelby

    Saved by Water

Why do you say "not water baptism" in regards to remission of sins? Does not Mark 1:4 (and Luke 3:3) state that John baptized "for remission of sins"? John clearly was baptizing with water and NOT the spirit. So remission of sins was accomplished by water baptism, not spirit baptism...
