    Welcome to the Official CC Valentine's B.Y.O.V. Thread! (B.e Y.our O.wn V.alentine!!)

Which contrasts with February 15, which is cheap candy day. Never mind the fact that the stuff that goes on sale February 15 was cheap candy before the 15th....

All Humanity is Required to obey the Torah

Do not be deceived and confused: the Torah was given to ancient Israel, not to all humanity. It says so right in the Torah. Since, however, you think it is for all humanity, please explain how to obey it perfectly today, given that there are no priests to examine your animal for sacrifice, no...

    the Sabbath

They are related, but not conflated. Justification is judicial reinstatement to the status of righteousness. It is instant and enduring, not needing to be renewed because it is wholly dependent on the finished work of Jesus. Sanctification is the relational reinstatement to the lifestyle of...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Shall I yawn now, or do you have more blather to add?

    Post your Pet

"Post your pet" Well, the lady at the Post Office looked a bit concerned when I told her what was in the package.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

I have a better idea: grow a thicker skin. You know... like the ones donkeys have.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Specific language is not subject to popular opinion. The problem here is your ignorance. Instead of whining, pick up a dictionary and start learning.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

It's not inappropriate speech, and it's impossible to insult what you do or say. Here's the solution: stop making asinine comments and I'll stop calling them asinine. No, it is not. Your dirty mind is not my problem. If I wanted to call you either a donkey or an idiot, I would do so. Keep...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Calling your comments "asinine" is not insulting you. It should tell you that you need to reconsider your attitude towards me. Self-righteousness doesn't become a Christian either.

    Would Jesus drink Alcohol?

Sadly, Mom passed last year, and Dad is no longer capable of functioning. My dear wife is keen on trying Mom's recipe though... both parts. :)

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

More asinine comments. If you can't discuss without insulting others, then Scripture is not a subject you should discuss.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

It's not "high and mighty fancy talk". That's the correct name for your fallacy. Deal with it.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Don't be asinine. God is indeed sovereign, and has promised trouble in this world for His followers. God allowed the Catholic "church" to have enormous power while they kept the word of God from their followers. Like it or not, God's ways are higher than your self-righteous understanding.

    WHAT IS A BIBLE?

With respect, your theology needs some refinement. Jesus is not the new testament, nor vice-versa. The New Testament did not suffer under Pontius Pilate, die on a cross, or be raised again on the third day. Jesus is the Word (see John 1), but the new testament is the literal word of God (see 2...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Your argument is a genetic fallacy. Just because the Vaticanus was found in the Vatican library is no proof of its corruption. Similarly, the involvement of a Catholic on a modern translation committee is not proof that translation is corrupt. Reason to investigate? Sure, but not proof in and of...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

That's misleading. They worked with what they had, and as such, it's anachronistic and heavily biased to imply that they preferred the TR.

Only unclean spirits called on the name of Jesus - the scourge of Jesus Grace

In your view, who or what is the entity that gives John those revelations?

    Question

I haven't been to Israel myself, but I have heard from several sources that, in general, the Israeli Jews are not particularly welcoming to Christians. Most people there are not Christians, but rather 'secular' Jews.
