I believe you are speaking about committing oneself to believing Christ totally, as in discipleship. I don't know how many of us today do that, where we don't trust in currency or material goods. Something very drastic would have to occur in order to create disciples as in the first century.

Narrow is the Way who few find, while broad is the way, and many there are that choose it. If you love God/love and your neighbor, you are on the narrow path. If you love automobiles, hobbies, investments, politics, etc., etc., etc., you are then on the broad path.
